Synchronizing Folders

Is there a way to synchronize a folder in 'research' with a folder in Finder? After dragging / importing the folder into Scrivener I would like Scrivener to reflect changes I made outside of Scrivener (adding or deleting PDFs, etc.).

I fear the answer is no, but wonder if there is a work around.

Searching in this forum

I am trying to search the forum for "annotation", and it won't permit it. The message is that "annotation" is too common a word. The forum engine also ignores "annotation" in any search string that contains the word (e.g., "print annotation").

Re: The status of the next update and 2.0

Scrivener is one of the best designed tools on any platform. I'd pay $20 or even full price for a significant functional upgrade (KB: you can hold me to it). You deserve compensation for your work. Unlike some recent "major upgrades" issued in the last few weeks, I am confident that when K...

Re: MacSpeech Dictate

Thanks to Hugh @all for noticing the new update. It looks like this new version (1.2) is quite buggy. To get it to work at all you need to delete the prefs file and create a new profile. It's OK with dictation, but command mode seems not to work. MS responds to a mere handful of commands. Maybe othe...

Re: MacSpeech Dictate

I've had problems with MacSpeech Dictate, and found ways to work around some of its limitations. The lack of a spelling mode is a large drawback, but in a pinch the NATO phonetic alphabet can be used with moderate success. While it learns vocabulary from reading text samples, it doesn't learn to pro...

Re: Best way to learn Cocoa?

Bob or Keith: Bob's original post got itself garbled - could one of you re-post the names of the recommended books?

Don't change a thing

Scrivener does what I need very well. Has no bloat. Tightly designed and sensible. Gets out of the way when I need to do what I came to do - write. Comes with an excellent forum too.

Keith, if you add new features, can you leave us with a "legacy mode" pref so we can opt out?

Sending Scrivener notes with Jott

I've enjoyed a nice service call Jott (jott.com) that gives you an 800-number to call, lets you speak any kind of message, transcribes it to text, and sends it to whomever (e.g., yourself) you want in an email. I'm horrible at losing notebooks, scraps, etc., and this lets me record ideas when I have...
