Re: dual monitors for Scrivener for Windows?

Laura -

I have a dual monitor system on Windows 7 and can span both monitors in Scrivener with no issues. Just make sure your Scrivener screen is not maximized, then drag the right edge across to the other screen.

Does this help?

Re: Making Sidebar Font Larger?

Sylvie -

Assuming you're on Windows...

Under Tools | Options choose Appearance. The window on the bottom right gives you control of the fonts.

Choose General, then Binder, then select font. You can change the size and the actual font used there.

Tools/Writing Tools/Name Generator and then click on the import tab; the rest is pretty self explanatory.
Good luck with your writing.

Thanks very much, Shass!

Re: Name generator oddness

Hi Jennifer - I realize this feature is just a toy, but it would be nice if it at least included the most common names, particularly if the database was drawn from a census. In any case, yoiu mentioned that one can add to the database. I've seen that mentioned elsewhere, but no details on how to do ...

Name generator oddness

What's up with the name generator (Windows)? I choose First name male, Origin American, beginning with J, and I get, over and over in random order:

Jaylend
Jamarreon
Jovan
javin
Jaidon
Jasontae

Real American.

And no John, Jack, James, Jim, Josh, Jules, Julian, Joseph, Joe, or Jake?

Huh?

Re: Can I add a line feed after the header?

Jennifer -

Thanks for your reply. Well, I guess I can use the work-around, but it's kind of a pain. This seems like a reasonably simple thing to add, so can I please ask that you consider including this feature in future releases?

Re: Can I add a line feed after the header?

Jennifer - Sorry for MY delay. I did not get notification of your reply. I am a total newbie to Scrivener so I'm not quite sure what I'm doing, but here is what I've tried: I go to compile, and click on the first row (Level 1+), then modify. I highlight TITLE, which is the first thing in the dialog ...

Re: Can I add a line feed after the header?

Jennifer - Thanks for the information. I can't seem to quite get it to work, however. The changes appear to be taking effect in the preview window, but when I do the actual compile, they don't show up. As an extreme test, I set the spacing after the tile to 48 points. That should create quite a gap...

Can I add a line feed after the header?

I'd like more space between the header and my body of text. Is there a way to do this? I didn't see anything appropriate in the placeholder tags list.
