This way you can also see the Synopsis at a glance.

Re: preview text file from outliner?

If you want and have the screen space to open the text in a separate window, while still seeing the Outliner, you can open the text you want by pressing the space bar. To close it, press Cmd-W. Very similar to how Quick Look works.

Re: preview text file from outliner?

I would like to do one of the following: - from the binder (or anywhere else for that matter), get a quick view of the synopsis Don't know how to do that. - from the outliner (or anywhere else for that matter), get a quick view of the text. Doesn't my suggestion above Click Cmd-4 and the text comes...

Re: Does Scrivener have a “versions” feature or undo button like Pages for Apple?

Could you elaborate as to how to take a snapshot; and where they would be stored? You take them by a. choosing one of the alternatives under Documents-Snapshots in the Menu bar, or by b. using one of the key shortcuts you find in the same place, or if you have chosen that behaviour in the settings,...

You can change the behaviour in Settings-Behaviour-Return Key.

Re: preview text file from outliner?

Touché! Brookters “Three Pane”-solution is more elegant than mine. Even if I would reduce it to two panes by hiding the Binder.

Wow, Ioa. That’s what I’ve been looking for- and asking for - since beta days. Great!

Re: preview text file from outliner?

Click Cmd-4 and the text comes up in the editor. Click the back-arrow in the upper right corner, and you are back to the outliner.

Helpful doing what? Write a film script? Write a short story? Write a dissertation? Handle research? Keeping track of characters and locations? Self-publish a novel?

What is it you want to do? What can't you figure out how to do?

Dropbox sync: ”Filen xxx finns inte ...”

When opening Scrivener on my iPad I’m asked if I want to sync with Dropbox. After accepting the sync starts but stops after a while with the enclosed message that a file is not found. If I redo the sync everything syncs properly. Lately this happens every time I open Scrivener. Why?

Re: Revision mode colour – Mac/iOS

The solution I've settled for is to check the box "Take snapshot before updating document" in Preferences. At least that way I can see what revisions has been made in the document by comparing it with the snapshot.

Re: Revision mode colour – Mac/iOS

Thanks Ioa!

Yes it works, Including colour-matching. But still quite cumbersome I'm afraid. Also, often I just change a word, a name, or whatever to another, without other changes. Then that is what I'd like to stand out. Applying a style will change the formatting of the entire paragraph.

Revision mode colour – Mac/iOS

If I'm in revision mode on my desktop all text I add while on my Mac will be in the chosen revision colour. I've understood that the iOS app doesn't have a revision mode. Fair enough. But, is there any way to get text added, or changed while working on my iPad, to show up as revisions, once I'm back...

Re: Is it possible to use Meta Data for parts of text within the editor?

What I'd do, is to split the document in shorter chunks, so that the paragraphs that should be included in respective book are separate documents to which I can add any metadata. I'd still be able to read them as a integrated text in Scrivenings. If I want to signal in the Binder and Outline that al...
