Date on .scriv file

Yes, after all these years, I have no idea how this works. Embarrassing (again). Anyway, I've been using the iOS version and syncing with DB often (every session). But...when I sync'd to my Mac this morning, the dates/time stamps on the .scriv "files" in Dropbox > Apps >Scrivener is "...

Scrivener Hallmark Moment: Tin

Yep. Ten years of using Scrivener. Doesn't seem possible. I have used all the versions (Mac and Windows), including "Gold". Good times. I will admit that I have watched the long, seemingly endless discussion in the forum about the development of the iOS version. I eye-rolled. I silently di...

Re: Once you go Mac ...

I use a "windows" mouse with all my macs. Left and right buttons and a scroll wheel - luxury (I can't stand the Apple mice (mouses?)). Oh, and I've never looked back (apart from the rodental issues) from getting a mac. The best thing for me is that they last longer than Win machines. Happy...

Re: Scrivener for ZX Spectrum

... content free editing. At last, someone who values the purity of it all! "Scrivener Mini, for those who want content-free writing! A single black editing window, where nothing can be entered or edited." That should result in the opposite of NIAD. "NIE, Nothing In Eternity!" :...

Re: Scrivener for ZX Spectrum

I think the PalmOS is a serious oversight. I've still got my IIIxe somewhere and it's monochrome screen would give distraction and content free editing. Also, I think it has seniority over the Newton. Unless we're talking Isaac Newton, in which case...carry on.

Re: AlphaSmart history

Again Mike, thank you. The new Neo(s) have prompted me to write something every day. I'm on a 20 day streak at 750words.com.

Re: AlphaSmart history

Mike, you are seriously on my Christmas card list for introducing this topic. The Neo is the biz. So much so that following Ioa's example, I bought another one as a spare. Because I can.
The second one came with a whole bunch of kid's essays which was a lovely bonus :)

Re: How do I replace this character?

It's the character sets, I think. Basically, it's a really old page that's probably either been created by or had text pasted from Word. I've had this happen to me. I usually just clean up the HTML (view source and paste it into a text editor and "search & replace" until it looks like ...

Re: AlphaSmart history

After the demise of my Livescribe Echo pen this year, I've been looking around for an alternative. It's not really practical for me to lug around a laptop (too heavy and too hard to get power to charge it on long trips), so I've just lashed out and bought a Neo. Best. Thing. Ever . I wish I'd got on...

Re: Writer's research forums ?

There's a Live Journal community set up for questions such as yours (I think). It's fascinating reading even if you don't have a question  All and any questions are welcomed, but it's always a good idea to say what you've checked and how and if you've tried Google-fu and what your search terms...

Re: Calculate number of words in an eBook ?

There's a plugin for Calibre called "Count Pages" that will also count words (for epub & mobi).

There's a "how to guide" on this site.

Re: Srivener 2.5 compatibility with Mac OS 10.6.8

I'm currently using 2.5 on my beloved three plus year old Macbook Pro running 10.6.8 (no new mac for Christmas, darn it!). Scrivener runs perfectly on it.

I'm currently running v2.5 on 10.6.8 (and I won't be updating to Mavericks at all on this machine).
