Scriv 3 Manual

Ver 3.0.0 - 01

Just a heads up, I think something went awry with section 19.1, it's kinda a giant wall of text with some odd lines that I haven't run across elsewhere in the manual.

Re: Activation every time

Yeah, I've seen that as well. A bit annoying, but I figure it's just extra incentive to wean myself off V2 that much quicker.

Re: Wrap text

I found that once I unchecked the option to centre the editor that I liked the fixed width much better. I tend to sit a bit left of centre with respect to my monitor, so turning off the centring option brought the text back in front of me rather than off to the side. YMMV of course.

Re: New forum: vertical scrollbar cursor absent in Firefox

FWIW I had a scroll bar elevator in FF when I started reading this thread (only visible when scrolling per my system prefs). However it has since changed from a visible grey on white to a nearly invisible white on white, Same in Safari and Chrome. I presume there's still some work going on behind th...

Re: Current line highlighting?

In v2, my line highlight is a pale yellow background, which is very subtle and which I like. In v3, there is a line around the selected line, which I don't like at all, so have switched it off. Yeah, it's really quite in your face now with the border around the highlight. That said, I think I'm get...

Oh, one other small issue - the clickable hotspot only seems to half overlap the Unread Posts icon.

Re: Trouble updating to new version

I had that too, I just downloaded the new version from the website and then installed it over top. Seems to have worked fine.

Re: Forum software changes (I don't know where to put this)

With regards to forum stuff - just to make sure it doesn't get lost in the shuffle - I'll mention that I'm really missing the little indicator on the Board Index page for which subforums have new posts (ie, Mac tech support, Mac Feedback, etc).

Phew - crisis averted.

Started to get worried when I saw that Synopsis and custom metadata were on different tabs in V3. Set Synopsis from Selection looks like it'll work nicely for me though.

and somewhere in the past history of these forums there is a post from KB stating specifically what I pointed out. Yep, http://literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=312 4. Features are not implemented on a voting system; features are only added if I feel they a) fit in with my over-a...

Re: "Track changes"-like function to see deleted text as I edit?

In other words I need to delete stuff, but still see it in its original location. One possible solution might be to select the text to be "deleted", but instead of actually deleting it, convert it into an inline annotation. Then when you compile, on the Footnotes and Comments pane you can...

Re: Request for help from Scrivener staff

jimrac, I see the document icon, but no pull down thingy. If I ctrl-click it, I get the path of the document; otherwise it responds to no clicks, multi-clicks or other blandishments, other than to move the right-hand side of the window in by a third on a double-click. Sorry if this is obvious, but ...
