Re: Is there a way to copy the content of the synopsis and the document notes into their document

Whenever I have a few documents selected, the feature, now called Documents > Autofill > Append Synopses to Main Text, appears to be greyed out. Please advise how one can use this feature. Thanks! Update: It seems to work, sometimes. Sometimes says Append, sometimes says Send, sometimes is greyed ou...

Re: Scrivener to Leanpub: the search for guidance.

FYI: Deep in the Leanpub help, I found this article: http://natedickson.com/2018/08/automation-for-authors/ which uses Scrivener Export and a Python script to make the book.txt file.

Still interested in ideas, thanks!

Re: Scrivener to Leanpub: the search for guidance.

OK, I'm slow. There's probably no real problem just compiling the whole draft to a single file, is there? Do all the organization in Scrivener, don't break it out into files, just put in the headers and let 'er rip.

Scrivener to Leanpub: the search for guidance.

After playing a bit with GitHub pages for holding a bookish kind of thing, I'm thinking Leanpub is a better target for my purposes. I have Philip Espinosa's book on Scrivener with Leanpub. He recommends using the Sync feature to set up for Leanpub, which expects separate files and a book.txt file sa...

Re: Make Scrivener interpret research files as text

Thanks, boss, that'll do it. What I had hoped for was a way to click the binder item post-hoc and say "hey wait this is just text". The other ways, preplanning or copy-paste will work.

Thanks,

Re: Make Scrivener interpret research files as text

I can, and I did. However, Scrivener conveniently offers the ability to drag things into the folder, and then is like "Huh?" when they're in there. If there's a way to drag in a batch and then tag them, it would save a lot of copy/paste.

Make Scrivener interpret research files as text

I dragged some YAML and course files into research for a thing I'm writing. Scrivener has decided it doesn't understand them.

How can I tell it that these files are just text and to show them as such?

Thanks!

Re: Metadata for Markdown YAML

Super, I'll compare that to my scheme. Sounds verbally like it's similar but the details will help.

Much appreciated, thanks!

Very interesting, thanks! I'm hoping not to have to go that far. :)

Thanks again,

Re: Contents of a Layout, Inserting YAML

Thanks ... so the way I found is the way to do it. YAY!

And for the YAML, yeah, I'm pretty close to thinking just type it in.

Thanks!

Re: Metadata for Markdown YAML

Ah. What I was missing below is that keywords are per document not per project. I was thinking one Scrivener project with several website articles in it. One project per article would be OK but keeping them together seemed more organized. I was thinking top level Scrivener folder = website article ...

Contents of a Layout, Inserting YAML

Q1: Is there some way to change the contents of a layout? I have one that shows chapter number, and would just like to have the text. The only trick I've found is to find one near what I want and then hit + and it seems to copy that one. Is there a more direct way to control what's in there? Q2: I'm...

Re: New Document in Scrivenings Mode

Adaptive titling mostly works. When you're in Scrivenings mode, with titles displayed, adaptive ones do not display as titles. Arguably, of course, the text is right there anyway, just not looking like a title. Obviously I"m not holding my mouth right. The bad news is there are a trillion ways ...

Re: New Document in Scrivenings Mode

Typing the name into the header worked, but when I hit enter it puts me back in the document with the title displayed ... and in "No Style" with 22 point type. Not quite the plan ... so unless there's an obvious fix for that, that's right out. The split as title thing seems to work OK. See...
