Reset Number Stream to any number, not just one

There's a use case (two box sets in a single project) where Compiling the 2nd boxset starts book numbers at one, when they should start at five. How hard would it be to let us reset a stream to any number we want?

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

Yeah, I kind of half jokingly thought of adding, “unless someone is willing to send us their device for a couple of weeks”, but seriously, I don’t think that’s a good idea, we’d have to draw up papers and stuff. It turns out I never had this problem), but if I did ... and if I were near ... I...

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

It seems like SOMEONE in Wales could bring you a device that demonstrates the problem. That, or it’s EXCEEDINGLY rare.

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

Don’t quote me, but I think iOS 13.2.3 fixed the problem on my iPhone 8 Plus.

I synced 4 projects totaling 10,279 files, 106MB (including the Scrivener 3 manual).

In another folder, I synced 22 projects totaling 3,172 files, 164.4 MB.

I couldn't sync anything, the last time I tried.

iOS attempting to sync nonexistent file

I tried to sync on my iPhone 8+ and confirmed the DC88941C... file does not exist, using: a) search with Find Any File with Package Contents->Are Shown b) search with or without Package Contents shown, but packages converted to folders c) Spotlight search same as (b) Scrivener or Dropbox is trying t...

Re: "Folder level 1" isn't a section type?

I’m helping a Scrivener 2 user.

You’ve confirmed my newfound understanding that level+file type wasn’t equivalent to v3 section types. For a long time I thought it was.

"Folder level 1" isn't a section type?

In the attachment (Scrivener 2) you see several folders at level one in the hierarchy, not all of them highlighted. Those that aren't have "as-is" checked. Is that the way this always worked? If so, I wasn't aware of it. I may have known at one time, but I've used Scrivener 3 for two years...

Re: New beta for MacOs Catalina?

You closed my other thread on negative right-hand margins JUST before I would have updated it to say I found (in an older thread) your checklist for resetting display settings. That probably solves the problem.

UPDATE: no. It recreated the problem ... but close and reopen got rid of it. Maybe.

Editor right margin negative in Catalina

In the Editor, the last character or two are cut off at the right, as if the right margin were set to be negative. This is on a 15" 2015 MBP. (I haven't downloaded Catalina on my Mac Mini as yet.) I don't have fixed-width or page view turned on, and I have Editor Right/Left margins set to 20 pt...

Re: Spotlight Search doesn't index inside projects

When it does work as you describe, how does it work? Does it actually load the RTF file itself into TextEdit or whatever—because that’s exactly the kind of thing that should not be easy to do accidentally. If it loads the host project though, then that sounds a lot more reasonable and even intentio...

Re: Spotlight Search doesn't index inside projects

Find Any File supposedly does what I want. I'll have to try it.

Apple may restore this functionality to Spotlight, but there's no guarantee of that.

Update: yes, Find Any File does the job. It doesn't use an index, so it's slow ... but it works.

Re: Spotlight Search doesn't index inside projects

I’m not sure if this has ever worked out of the box, at least precisely as you are describing. There are times where it may appear to work (and for a while I thought it did!), and I think that’s when the word you’re looking for ends up in the Quick Look preview for the project. Even then it still o...

Re: the front matter folder compiles

No, that's correct, if you're reporting a Mac bug you should use the Mac bug reporting board. I don't want the Front Matter folder to compile, and I doubt anyone does, so I don't see it as a bug on the Mac . I'll leave it to you to decide which app doesn't abide by your design intention, but it sho...

Spotlight Search doesn't index inside projects

The same thing occurred for a while two or three Mac versions ago, and it's back. I should be able to spotlight search for "Skiirl" and find project RTFs containing that word. Spotlight should also find RTF files by name or kind. But neither works. Is that because we're missing a Spotlight...

Re: the front matter folder compiles

It's not a Mac problem. The two development teams — Windows and Mac — need to reach a consensus and make both platforms behave the same way.
