Re: unable to verify your activation for more then two months

I stated getting the notification on both laptops today. I was able to correct Laptop One by doing a re-install of 1.9.14, since there was no Paddle directory in (x86) Scrivener. The Paddle directory appeared on re-install. I ran Scrivener.exe, re-entered my email and licence number, and so far, I'm...

Re: A great program marred by critical flaws in core functionality.

OneNote, and Excel work great.

Well shure. They would. Millions of $$$ have no doubt been expended by a corporation with thousands of employees to make certain.

Re: A great program marred by critical flaws in core functionality.

Scrivener simply did not work well with Word

To be fair, what program does work well with Word, if you please?

Re: A great program marred by critical flaws in core functionality.

Screenplays? No. It gets int he way. Technical writing? Design documents? No. It gets in the way. (Guess what kinds of writing I do  ) You paid 60 bucks for writing software that you anticipated would do everything. Might I suggest an actual piece of software that is designed _specifically_ f...

Re: It's official - Constructive Criticism as a form of improvement is DEAD!

Personally, I found all the "constructive criticism" I needed in the Scrivener version 3 Beta forum. I read and digested all of the Beta forum bugs and comments. By the time Beta 7 (or perhaps it was B8) came out, I was hooked. I installed it, and I haven't looked back, other than to make ...

Re: License manager ended unexpectedly

I've re-downloaded today's Scrivener. exe file and copied it appropriately. It now runs accordingly.

Thanks for all the effort.

Re: License manager ended unexpectedly

Okay, after a bit of experimenting, I've determined the following for Laptop #1: Running today's updated Scrivener.exe file shows me what I quoted in an earlier post. If I run yesterday's Scrivener_UPDATE1.exe, the programs asks for an email address and a serial number. Once that is entered, the pro...

Re: License manager ended unexpectedly

Here's the image I'm getting after I move the latest Scrivener.exe to Program Files (x86) and running Scrivener: The license server is compromised. [ snip ] Scrivener will now be shut down. Please reinstall the application and purchase a valid license to continue using Scrivener. Running the origina...

Re: Disapointment in the Windows Team

* holds up hand, looks around * Perhaps one of the "guilty" parties here, but I've been using the new beta since 7. Have I ever used ALL of any versions of Scrivener's features? NO! I do not. I use Send To Kindle to proof multiple times on a tablet and a phone. These proofing files are com...

Re: License manager ended unexpectedly

All right, installed and done on my second laptop as described above. The first time I ran the newly replaced Scrivener.exe from a shortcut in the task bar on the second laptop, it stuttered with the blank opening for 10 seconds. I waited for it to execute fully, opened a project normally, and close...

Re: License manager ended unexpectedly

1) I renamed my original Program Files (x86) / Scrivener.exe file to Scrivener_OLD.exe. 2) Copied the Scrivener.exe file from your extracted download to Program Files (x86) / Scrivener. 3) I've opened the x86 version multiple times with your new Scrivener.exe file. The program opens normally for me. ...

Re: Dissapointment in the Windows Team

I love the old Scrivener too. It has been my best writing friend for many years. I agree wholeheartedly, although I've been using the Beta exclusively since v7. I've been going back to 1.9+ to check on the activation issues. You know, just in case there's a burp. I can produce meaningful output in ...

Re: Scrivener V3 for Windows release date

@SCN: I noticed your tag "I'm writing my first novel, employing the Save the Cat beats and the Snowflake method." and wanted to mention another excellent book on structure by Jessica Brody, called "Save The Cat! Writes A Novel". She uses Blake Snyder's books and fleshes out the b...

Re: Hello and a suggestion! :)

Thanks to Wikipedia, I refreshed my memory. Of course, one's mileage may vary concerning passive-aggressive behaviour, and we all know Wikipedia isn't a bible, by any stretch. Has anyone else noticed how some posters like to have the last word? ^^^ Heh. passive-aggressive behavior as: "a person...
