Re: Numbers on the pages

LibreOffice - it's free - has a word processor that can handle .doc and .docx files, as well as spreadsheet capabilities that can handle .xls and .xl files.

I use the spreadsheet capabilities. I cannot speak to the word processor and how it handles .doc and .docx.

Re: My Scrivener reverted back to TRIAL mode!

So did mine, on one laptop. I put in the information it asked for and I was good to go. Did you do the same?

Re: Accessing Scrivener 3 files via Windows

You can download the latest beta version here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=40621 Updates presumes you close and re-open the product occasionally for it to work. To keep the beta updated: F12 / General / Startup / Automatically check for updates To check manually...

Re: another super list of fixes

I too fear I must pile on the accolades. I've been producing output with the Betas since the single digit versions. Any bugs I've encountered have been publicized by others far in advance of my own encounters with same. Occasionally I've mentioned one or two, but nothing has been earth-shattering to...

Thanks. The links aren't going anywhere but in my Series Information Folders, and the Research Folder.

Changing link colours in Win V3

From the manual: Color hyperlinks External hyperlinks will be coloured blue, as per standard behaviour. Disable this for documents you intend to print in black & white format. Nice. How do I disable this? My background is Wordperfect blue. My text is white. I can't see a hyperlink when I insert ...

Re: [LH4315] Line spacing changes on copy paste with CTRL-V / After-paragraph line spacing shrinks

I saw something like this yesterday. Spacing after paragraph went from 1.0x 0.0/5.00 to 1.0x 0.0/4.48. I fiddled with it, but it wouldn't change back to 5.00. It showed as a selection, but it wouldn't take. Today, when I re-opened the project, it was fine, and works as it should. Edited to add: Cont...

Re: Forced constant beta update

F12 / General / Startup / Automatically check for updates. It will check every time you open the Beta version. From the menu: Help / Check for updates. Of course, you have to do one or the other before your current beta expires, or you'll have to download and install manually. You no longer lose you...

Re: v1.9x conversion to Beta 39 (Updated)

I broke down and downloaded the x64 B39, installed manually, and lo, all is well. It even kept my toolbar mods in place! Still no idea why "it" reset the B39 .scrivx file to open via v1.9x on a double-click. No idea why I couldn't reset the associations using all the Win10 methods, either....

Re: v1.9x conversion to Beta 39

you should be able to fix the association without reinstalling I tried a couple of those methods, but they don't work. I'll wait until the next auto-download beta (I don't want to lose my toolbars). If that doesn't fix it, I'll re-install. I really have no idea how it happened. My other laptop is f...

v1.9x conversion to Beta 39

I opened a v19x project in Beta 39. It came over fine, and opens normally if I use the Beta to open the project. However, if I double-click on the converted .scrivx file, it calls up the v1.9x software, and obviously can't be opened. I tried pulling the folders into a new Beta 39 setup, but even the...

Re: Forced constant beta update

Trigger warning here: I'm another happy Beta user, but... Can we not have the Beta load automatically every day? You know, like when I wake up and make coffee and putz around the kitchen, why can't the software know when I'm ready to write and already be onscreen? Furthermore, is it possible to code...
