Re: Commitment & responsibility...

Scrivener version 1.9+ for Windows works quite well. It has for me since 2011. It's a shame that so many people you know need a release version of Scrivener 3 to do their writing. And, of course, you are right. There are many other writing products out there, including Word. Some of them even requir...

Re: Release on Aug 30 confirmed?

Scribhneoir: I'm done. Maybe I'll check back next year and see if anything has changed. I'm with Astaff on this. Blindfolds at dawn! A healthy drawing and quartering! A ceremonial flogging? No way. It's to be a severe flogging or nothing. A day spent in La Tomatina for all of them! Oh. Wait just a ...

Re: Name generator

Phone books down at the library work great, too. A first name from one page, a last name from another.

Re: Release on Aug 30 confirmed?

... while I am waiting for the final relase of Scrivener 3 for Windows (sic), I do not start anything really important for me. Seriously? You've stopped using version 1.9, a perfectly good and productive product. You're not producing anything. You've halted your writing. Your ideas have come to a h...

Re: Weekly betas

Not fair! I want ice cream for my dog! (Sorry, I'm too frazzled with writing to code it.)

Although, I do have time to post, so I can't be that frazzled.

Re: Dissapointment in the Windows Team

the failure of the windows version to keep up with the Mac version Yeah, no, you're stating the obvious. It's been that way for years, doncha know. You're late to the choir. Try to keep up. to say that a person should buy the IPad version so that they may have (sic) a more up to date version Nope. ...

Re: Do I have to uninstall Beta 19 (Win64) before installing Beta 20?

I have two laptops using the Beta. On one, I installed B20 on top of B19. It works quite nicely. It's not recommended, though. It's a beta, after all. Once in a blue moon on this laptop when a new beta comes out, I'll uninstall the beta and download the newer version, but not all that often. I've do...

Maybe he just got out courtesy of his most recent misadventure. Or, perhaps, he acted as his own lawyer and went MIA for a number of years.

Re: Dissapointment in the Windows Team

Speaking of failed writers, judging by all the negative comments on the Windows beta, there appears to be plenty of writers blaming the tool. Methinks the failures should take a look in the plate glass on the outside of the coffee-shop patio. They might just catch a glimpse of themselves. In the mea...

Re: Latest BETAs = PURE GARBAGE

@twolane, you'd probably like to read into the full discussion of bugs. I do "read into" the full discussion of bugs. That's why I use the Beta. It works for me. If it doesn't work for someone who can't manage to find a sharp stub pencil and unwrinkled paper to write, it's not my problem....

Re: Latest BETAs = PURE GARBAGE

I've been using the Beta exclusively since v7 or v8. My output is on a par with the stable v1.9. What's your problem? Oh, and it's a BETA. Did you not get the memo?

Re: Ability to search for text or at least keywords across all projects

Thanks, brookter. As I suspected. With regard to "nesting", perhaps a bad choice of word. I meant only moving the completed multiple Novel (Novel 1, Novel 3, etc.) folders over to the Manuscript folder temporarily while doing the search. They would be moved back once I looked at the search...

Re: Ability to search for text or at least keywords across all projects

If several projects in a series were nested in the binder, would the search function go through each and every one and come up with the desired results? What I meant was this: 1) Half a dozen completed novels in the same Scrivener Binder listing as individual folders. 2) The Working Novel is under ...

Toolbar customization after deleting old/installing new beta

Is there a setting I'm missing? Every time I delete a beta and install a new one, my toolbar customization is lost. I've written out by hand a very nice and satisfying list of how I want the toolbars to appear, but why should I have to rearrange everything time after time after time following a new ...
