Re: Scrivener 3 Windows Release

It never ceases to amaze me to read about the pearl clutching regarding a new version of Scrivener. I've been using the Windows product in its various incarnations since 2011. Many have been using it far longer. I've written (oh, I dunno, allow me a moment to call up my spreadsheet) more than a hund...

Re: Just a quick thank you

I heartily concur. I have been a user since 2011. I get my fix daily. When I need more, I sit down and write more.

Re: Scrivener 3 Windows Release

Well eggybread, I dunno, but why not pick up one of the many, many other software programs that claim to do what Scrivener for Windows does? I believe there are a number of free programs. There's even one where you pay a monthly subscription for an online version. I'm certain that bit of program del...

It also gives them a really looooong "day" with plenty of sunshine to launch a new beta. :D (Sorry I forgot the  in my last post.)

Re: June 20th Seems... Oddly Specific to End Beta 17

Yes, but should I worry there will there be a beta 18? I mean, really, as a previous poster mentioned, June 20 is oddly specific. What if there are no more betas? What if they come to a grinding halt and then beta 19 is released, usurping the vaulted position of beta 18? Is it too soon to panic, or ...

Re: beta after May 15th?

I hate to make light of this entire thread (not), but now that a beta announcement has been made, will it be beta 17? Or will the software scribes at L&L skip a beta and go right to beta 18? Will there be a beta after 17 (or beta 18, if they skip 17)? Will there be more betas before beta 17 (or ...

Re: Benefits of a College education

I could be wrong, but the following scenario comes to mind. The line is definitely not hot. The lineman is in a training environment. Judging by the position of the insulator, he's tensioning the line using a come-along. Or, he's replacing/stringing line and tensioning it on an actual "high-ten...

Re: When to quit...?!

You might want to take a look at pulp writer Dean Wesley Smith's blog. He's a very firm believer that writing practice is writing new work. Re-writing isn't. I tend to go along with that, but as always, writing is solitary work, so what works for you is what works for you. In other words, you do wha...

Re: Compile doesn't work after the latest update

I installed B16 overtop of B15. On reading this, I was able to compile my latest draft as a Times New Roman .docx.

(Not relevant, but I upload the .docx using Send to Kindle to load it onto my tablet and phone for proofing.)

Re: True or False??

I use my once-daily poison of choice as a reward for a day well-composed: One coffee-machine cuppa café crema infused with a half-and-half mixture of cream and chemical-enhanced French Vanilla flavouring. How French it is and how much vanilla is involved doesn't concern me. I hasten to add that it i...

Re: Partial emptying of trash

What I do is create a couple of folders near / above / below the Trash folder. Call them whatever you want. Put files you don't want to delete in one folder (possibly called Unused Files, or Files I Want to Use). Create another folder called Deleted Files. Put files in it that you want to delete, bu...
