Re: Windows 1.5.3.0 Update Released 5th Feb 2013

Hello. I am finally getting around to updating. When I go to 'check for updates' I get a message that there is no active internet connection, but that is not the case. The machine is clearly on line. http://i1301.photobucket.com/albums/ag108/tylertoo626/AE2/2013-07-10_10-14-35.jpg I am running versi...

What was the submission/approval process like? Do you retain rights?

Re: Creating a checklist for each chapter?

Thanks for correcting me. I thought there was no 'import template' function, but obviously I was wrong  .

Re: Creating a checklist for each chapter?

My understanding is that the Win version does not have templates, but what Hewson offers is essentially a saved project that you open, rename as your own project, and start from there.

Instructions for Windows are in his post.

Re: How I used Scrivener to write my YA SF novel in 2 months.

Thank you Robert for taking the time to explain all. It makes perfect sense and is a great tip that I intend to implement. I have already used the search function but never had saved searches. I believe you're implying that the results are dynamic, so if I add brackets to some text after the search ...

Re: How I used Scrivener to write my YA SF novel in 2 months.

Thanks for taking the time to post this. I too was wondering why you numbered your chapters, though. Did you number these after the fact, or while in progress? [*]Used collections to save a search for text in [brackets] that needed to be replaced/edited/fact-checked - this made it easy to see everyt...

Re: Confused about word count

...make sure that there are checkmarks in the "Text" column there. Project Statistics for the Manuscript (generally "Draft") folder come directly from compile, so if you've set up to compile an outline of titles and synopses, say, that's all that will get counted. That was the p...

Confused about word count

Color me confused. I am starting a project and have written 2.5 chapters totaling more than 4,000 words. All the chapters are included in the compile. Yet when I run Project Statistics, it lists Manuscript words as just 49 (and pages as 1). Not sure what I'm doing wrong. :?:

Is this template still available? I'm doing the August Camp (in two days -- YIKES) and would love to use this template.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it. Thanks, google!

Re: Configuring meta-data for corkboard/outliner

Thank you, Jennifer for the detailed reply. It all makes sense. I will likely use notes to store location data, as I do want to reserve status for, uh, status! One more minor question: So if you set the keywords shown to 3, the first three keywords in each document's inspector list will appear as co...

Configuring meta-data for corkboard/outliner

I am just starting out on Scrivener, Windows version, and starting out on a novel. I have two point of view characters and multiple other characters. I would like advice on configuring labels/keywords to achieve this goal: For each scene, I would like to be able to see colors on the corkboard and ou...

Newcomer here w/the Win version. Just to clarify: what is meant by "this"? Custom meta data?

Assuming the answer is yes, is Custom meta data in the plans for the Win version?

Re: Compile -- Styles Dropdown?

Styles are not implemented in the Windows version yet, but should be on the roadmap. Thanks Stacey. Is it possible in the meantime for someone to post the specifics of the styles available in the Mac version (font, size, etc) so that we could replicate them manually? I assume the styles represent g...
