romance and terror I can see married together, but the whole lightness of a chick flick doesn't combine well with the gore of a horror movie. Although a truly terrifying movie is one that doesn't show you much in terms of the fear or gore factor, but builds up the suspense until you're practically g...

oh, am I that transparent?? The additional games that I played are all the same style. Xenogears, Vandal Hears, Star Ocean... Long RPGs. I like games that are like books. I did start Resident Evil, and it freaked me out so much I had to stop playing it! My heart would absolutely race when those dog ...

That's for playstation 2 as well, isn't it. I will certain be getting it (eventually!) The games I've played are slightly definitive of me... FF7, FF8, FF9, FF10...

If I had a working pc, no job or family, and the desire to be a hermit, I'd probably try FF11.

I've been reading Cryptonomicon for some time now - it's very hard to read such a complex book when you have children. Snatching half an hour here or there to read leaves you feeling like you have a fragmented veiw of the book, which is criminal for such excellent writing. I got into his writing via...

I am very out of date now. Last year I treated myself to a playstation 2, which I bought off ebay and loving wrapped and slipped under the tree. My playstation 1 has collected so much dust it finally stopped working (although I only noticed that when I tried to run an old game for my 6 year old). I ...

I took my husband to see transformers, and he was quite excited about the prospect. He does like his action flicks! We walked out of the movie afterwards, and he was disappointed by it. After the initial great effects of the physical tranformation, the rest of the movie was loud and full of the same...

I'll add mine, as no-one has mentioned it. I am very partial to a typeface called Myriad. I use it for my corporate stationery. For websites I like Trebuchet MS or Arial. I love their narrow forms. I really do like the default Optima in scrivener, and I've not changed it. It's also a narrow font, an...

a first post

for a long time I've been sure that there is a book inside me, and I finally put aside my collection of tired excuses and started writing. I decided that a wiki was probably the best way to keep track of writing, and found a program on my Mac that seemed to do the job. But it was slightly clunky, so...
