I, for one, appreciate a "I don't intend to ever add that feature. Sorry." answer from a developer, particularly when it is a shareware app. Shareware? I believe Keith has been quite clear from the start about what he's doing and why. To me, it's bizzare that some people feeling entitled ...

Keith, That little scratchy pad is so useful & nifty that I don't mind it following me around everywhere (insert slightly paranoid emoticon) errr.. no matter what app I'm working in. Seriously, what a brilliant idea! There's something so wonderful about this program it's almost viral - it's alwa...

Kevin Lygo, Channel 4's Director of Programmes, has claimed that the racism row saved the show from being dull. It's better to be offensive than boring, apparently.... It gets depressing after a while, I don't mind telling you. I know what you mean. What can be worse, however, is when people adopt ...

Damn straight Eiron,

but...

eddie,

I find lots to quibble with in your post, but allow me at least to point out that people invariably value what they pay for. As it is, Scrivener is so incredibly cheap that, based on its price-point alone, people may well overlook it by underestimating it.

Andy, dead on - I've been having the same feeling about Keith & Scrivener for months. It seems to me that Keith has tapped into a deeply felt need that is shared by many writers of all stripes. I can't wait to see what happens next...

All day it’s been annoying me that I can’t write about Scrivener without unleashing a torrent of superlatives; it’s simply ridiculous that I’m so smitten with this software - and yet: is it my fault that Keith has created the best digital writing environment I’ve ever experienced? Every mo...

iClip 4

...for those of you who have been waiting, iClip 4 is finally being released at the end of January; well worth the wait, though, as it's a gorgeous update to an already incredibly useful and well-designed piece of software.

I haven't seen the coverage (I don't have a television) - nor was it it covered by the BBC radio. However, i can say that I know how it feels to be judged by the actions/opinions/behavior of 299 million or so people. It all goes under the (usually derisive) term, "american." Here, btw, we ...

I very much like and respect your open attitude towards competition. Don't change... I emphatically agree with this. There's as much to admire in the man as in his software. :) As far as Storyist - I agree with others here: decent but miles apart from our beloved Scr. in every way that matters. 8)

Hey Brett, just my 2cents: I use both - but I find myself increasingly preferring iClip, for four main reasons: 1. iClip seems crisper/faster on the popup/close (even when I set SideNote to zero delay). Also, sometimes Sidenote 1. won't pop out when I want it to (it sort of hesitates...), and/or 2. ...
