Using Tables

Greetings all 8)

I've never used Tables in Scrivener before; and only rarely have I used them at all.

When I insert a Table, I get a standard 2 row, 3 column.

When I add new cells, all those new cells are grey-bordered, and I cannot seem to make them black?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'd pay twice the last fee. It's my single favorite piece of software I've ever used.

Word Count Within A Document?

Hey all,

Is there a way of determining the word count of, say, a single paragraph within a larger document by highlighting it, as we can do in pages? Is there some other way (other than pasting it into another program)? I hope so - this would be extremely helpful to my work!

Cheers all,

~Katz

Re: Why do some people write best at night?

When all the others are sleeping, they cannot interrupt you. You know they can't - and that disburdens you! Absolutely. Same thing happens if I'm on vaction -- or otherwise away from normal activities and disruptions -- with no pressures to "perform," socially or otherwise. ps That actual...

Re: Obama speaks Cicero

Two questions. 1. You memorized a G W Bush speech? nope - just a paragraph. 2. Theater-trained, you do recognize the importance of "performance," don't you? ps yeah, that's the point, right? 8) Anyone who thinks that Obama's speeches are even remotely "Ciceronian" either hasn't ...

Re: Why do some people write best at night?

Yes, I think that's true. Thanks! :D However, I'm wondering, "why?" Is is a screwed up circadian rhythm? A mere personality trait? And, more importantly, how do my fellow night-owls deal with this? It's a little hard to carry on a normal, "adult" (LOL!) life when I'm up until 3AM...

Re: Obama speaks Cicero

During the elections in November 2008, I was at a dinner table during discussions like this. I dinged my glass for attention. I stood up. And I gave a ringing speech. I am theater trained and know how to use my voice when I want to. I sat down. Everyone clapped and said repeatedly, "if we only ...

Why do some people write best at night?

Hi all! During the day I have a very short attention span; I try to force myself to write but it's a losing battle; at night, however, I can focus for many hours at a time; I could easily lose track of time and find myself having "pulled an all-nighter." Anyone else have this? Anyone know ...

Split Screen Editing

Hey all, If I am in split screen and I'm dragging text from one screen to another (same page/text), how can I set it up so that the text is "moved" rather than just "copied." Not having to go back to delete the text saves me a step? Any suggestions? Prolly I'm missing something v...

Re: Full Screen & Notes

One of the reasons is its implementation of Comments (rather similar to JNW, in fact, but better). Especially that you can hide all comments with a keyboard shortcut and call them up as easily. Praeterea censeo Carthaginem esse delendam… hint, hint! Best, Joachim I agree - that is a REALLY nice fea...

Re: Full Screen & Notes

well, I started using these neat little hyperlinked notes in my text via Text > Scrivener Link; and found them a handy way to keep my notes nearby but out of the way. Can I view those via the inspector?

Full Screen & Notes

I apologize if this has been covered. I love working in full screen - I also have a lot of notes embedded in my text. When I click on a note I cannot get back to full screen easily and quickly. Is there any trick/shortcut to switching back and forth? Or must I exit full screen mode to get bac...
