Re: ScrivNote for iPhone - feedback requested!

Thank you for the hint. I had already considered OF but don't like the program very much. It seems -- at first sight -- very complicated and packed with too many features that I will never use.

Best,
r.

Re: ScrivNote for iPhone - feedback requested!

My journalistic work involves a lot of note taking and journal writing on the go. I just spent a month in Asia, carrying notebooks with me all over the place, hiking, traveling on buses and trains, even cycling. It was a nuisance. And back home again I had to type it all into my MacBook to make it q...

Yes, go for it Keith.
Scrivener is fantastic and worth much more than the money you have been charging so far.

Re: So, Where is Scrivener

It seems to me that these people who create this "Writing by Numbers" software actually know very little about writing.

Re: New User: Scrivener seems molasses slow... is it my bad?

Keith, I get the same "Importing Flip4Mac WMV" message, which I why I stopped importing sound files to Scrivener. The "Importing Flip4Mac WMV" is very slow (I have a 2,2 gHz MacBook with 2 GB ram) and repeats itself whenever I open the file in question.

Re: Aeon Timeline Version 0.1.2 (Beta)

Thank you for this wonderful application. I have been waiting for something like this. Sending you my published works though would be so expensive that I would rather (and happily) just pay for Aeon.

All the best to you, and thank you again,

Re: Looking for blogging software

Thank you Tanja. Well, I would like to gradually put all my published articles and reports online, plus some photos. Along with this I also would like to post diary-like entries. I have looked into blogger today and find it easy to use. The only problem: there is no built-in way to compress/expand l...

Re: Looking for blogging software

Thank you to all of you for your help.

Wordpress just is too complicated for me. I know nothing about "databanks", "php" etc.. and I lack the time to change that.

Have some of you used blogger.com by Google?

Re: Looking for blogging software

Thank you, Ursula.
But I think MacJournal is not a blogging software but rather a digital journal which also allows you to post to a given blog.

Looking for blogging software

Hello everybody -- I am looking for a blogging software. I checked out Wordpress and Serendipity and did not understand a single word of their tech speak. Is there a blogging software out there that comes with the ease-of-use (but not the problems of) iWeb. Help is greatly appreciated! Thank you, r.

Re: Radical Honesty

I participated in a "Radical Honesty" workshop here in Germany a few years ago (though it went under a different name). It lasted five days, from Wednesday to Sunday, and it was one of the strongest -- and strangest -- experiences of my life. Picture eighteen or nineteen strangers from all...

Re: Moravia, 200 lines a day

In the end, there are no rules. This is the scary and wonderful part about creative work. Any advice, be it from a book or this forum, only gets you so far. Then you are left on your own in the wilderness. You have to get to know yourself, find out what works for you and what doesn't -- and always b...

Re: Moravia, 200 lines a day

I am a writer who lives on his writing, fiction and non-fiction. Right now I am writing a magazine piece on the African-American religious experience and the history of slavery in the US. For this I recently traveled to the US and spent a month there. It is 7 o'clock in the morning. I have to get my...

Re: Help! Scrivener has become very sloooow..

I discovered that the Scrivener is much faster (no lag when typing) when the Binder is closed. An open Binder showing many documents can slow down tremendously.
Do other's observe this as well?
It would be interesting to know!
Best,

That's strange! I have a 1,2 gHz G4 iBook, with 512 mb ram. I ran MenuMeters and it shows that, as opposed to before the graphics update, the CPU runs at maybe 30 or 40% of its capacity while working in a 30,000 words large document. Pages also runs smoothly now. It didn't use to at all. Have you up...
