Re: Zotero vs. DT vs. Bookends for Research Database?

I had to make a similar decision recently and decided on DTpro. As far as I know the current version is free. So why not give it a try? It is a complicated and rather cumbersome application but I found it to be worth its price (I paid for it because I thought that way I could get rid of those ugly y...

Re: academic software

I just finished a non-fiction book, 200 pages. I found the combination DevonThink plus Scrivener best for my particular workflow which required a lot of research. DevonThink, though it has a very unelegant (some say ugly) UI and often unfriendly support team, is unsurpassed for the accumulation of w...

Re: Scribbler™ for iPhone -- Early Look

Keeps crashing. Also the UI is cumbersome and, to my taste, very unelegant. If you ask 5 Euro for an app it should it least be stable.

I will stick with WriteRoom and DocumentsToGo.

Re: Scribbler™ for iPhone -- Early Look

Thank you for the hint. It did work -- but only once.
Auteureist crashed and I haven't been able to open it since.
Seems like the developer still has quite a bit of work to do.
Can't recommend buying the app at this point.

Same here. Won't upload to my iPod Touch.
"Not compatible" says iTunes. This is too bad.

Re: Mozy or iDisk or DropBox .... ?

Thanks everybody for your replies. I opted for iDisk simply because I trust Apple more than other companies. I use DropBox (the free 2 GB) for the documents I am working on; once they are done I upload them to iDisk. Apart from iDisk and DropBox I also use TimeMachine plus the occasional DVD back-up...

Re: My wishlist

People should be polite when they post here. And they should use the word "please" sometimes. And then they should remember that this here is the space for wishes, not demands (ofc, they can edit their posts after submitting them!).

Re: Scribbler™ for iPhone -- Early Look

Apple already took my Euro 4,99 (ca. 7,50 Dollars) but hasn't delivered the app yet...
Not your, the developer's, fault, I know. Just wanted to let you know.

Just curious: why don't you pose your question over at the Devon forum? Is there a reason?

Re: Online Copyright Submission

According to the definition here, I am a "legitimate" writer now. But -- was I "illegitimate" during all those years that I was writing and not being published? Was Kafka "illegitimate" because more or less none of his stuff was published during his lifetime? Rimbaud? I...

Re: pages 09 for academic work (in humanities)?

I just wrote a non-fiction book with plenty of foot notes and finished (polished) the manuscript in Pages 09. I liked it a lot. You should get this though: http://www.tool-forcesw.com/foreversave-lite/ It is a little tool that will automatically save your Pages document every few minutes (or even se...
