As to the screen: don't lose any more time, just buy an Apple display. I bought an Apple display almost two years ago, and I'm very happy with it. The only thing you have to worry about is whether you should buy the 20" or the 23" version. Tough choice. I went with the 20 inch. Very tough...

New Mac Book Pro

Just moved from a windows machine to a Macbook Pro, 15 inch screen. It is a magical machine but if I were going to use it ONLY to write, I would have bought a MacBook and saved the money. I would also have gotten a wireless keyboard for 79 dollars to keep me from spending all of my money at the Chir...

Easiest?

Fascinating conversion on what seems like amazing software.

Is there a consensus on which is the simplest to learn and use?

Thanks,

Catch 22

Just reread Catch 22. Still a stuning bit of work. Heller signed my copy form college about a year before he died. We spoke for almost 20 minutes. Just the two of us. I will never forget that day. As an aside, if you want a great read, look at "Something Happened." Hellers second book. Dar...

Pulling Text

As I develop my novel, I will see large blocks of text that I wish to pull out for later utilization.

Is there a good way to pull the text out and where shoud I store it.

Also, can I format in Scrivinger? Can I for example do italics for ghost like past voices?

Corkboard confusion

I am using the corkboard and find that I can only put a few words on each card. At times, I need to elaborate a bit to remember what i was thinking at the time.

Can you add more text to the index cards or is it just for some basic 3 or 4 word ideas.

The Violin Maker

A wonderfl book. About one year old. A magical stoy of a man who builds violins to replace the "strads' that are played by the best in the world. He makes 6 violins per year and one cello. (He has just completed Yo Yo Ma's cello. All from a place off of Flatbush avenue in Brooklyn, NY. An amazi...

Revised Wish

I guess my question is actually about not how to use Scrivener as opposed to why to use it. I am endlessly facianted with it but am not sure of why one uses it as opposed to Word.

Any explainations gratefully accepted.

My Only Wish

Being new to this magical program, my only wish is to understand how it works.

Wrote my first novel in Word and used nothing else right through publication. Now Scrivener.

Software is a joy again.

Love the full page view. Simply amazing.

Hello all.

Good To Be Here

What an amazing new experience. First changing from a PC to a Mac. Now Scrivener. A wonderful program I suspect. Using Word since the beginning of time and now this; wonderous magical feeling. I am of course clueless as to how it works but I hope to get the hang of it. Love the full page view. Takes...
