Re: Can anybody help me?

Ah, I see. She deploys this 'wit' and 'satire' I've heard so much about. I'll have to learn how to wield it myself, one of these days.

Re: Back to the Future

Black Fellah, The Daily Express building (Gt. Ancoats St, Manchester), I referred to, in my reply to Hugh, had an all glass exterior. Passer-by on foot or on buses, could see almost everything that went on. http://www.aidan.co.uk/display_page.php?photo=ManExpNetwks5608.jpg Vic  :D  Tr...

Re: Can anybody help me?

Should I dump Moonstone, and start The Woman In White, or is that as bad? I do hope that you're not dissing my favourite author! There's no point looking for dirty bits in Wilkie Collins. Everyone knows that the Victorians only had sex and violence subliminally, probably because these popular pasti...

Re: What do you make music with?

I only jumped on board the Live wagon with 7 so unfortunately I'm not well placed to sing it's praises in comparison to the older versions, but I can't see myself living without it, now. It just became my primary music environment, actually. I dearly love Cubase, and yes, if you take the time to REA...

Re: Back to the Future

Incredibly atmospheric environment as you say :D Ah well, c`est la vie  Take care vic Ah, the siren call of the big metal machines. The days when words weren't just something you could wield like daggers, but the very MEDIUM could kill you too, if you weren't careful near the clack-clacks. Th...

Re: Back to the Future

I bought a remington typewriter in a fit of neo-nostalgia on a road-trip to the Blue Mountains, some time ago. I can figure out my computer just fine, but I just couldn't get that little beastie to type at a decent pace without two hammers eventually catching together and jamming. Aside from that, t...

Re: What do you make music with?

Most recently I've been using: Software: Cubase 4 Reason 4 Live 7 I use Cubase as my primary system, with Reason & Live as Rewire slaves. In Live, overwhelmingly I use Sampler, because it's unbeatable as a true software sampler. Reason works for me as a glorified digital instruments rack, with a...

Re: Music writing program for a university music student?

Cubase has a score editor that (in my opinion) is nicely competitive with Sibelius. Cubase Studio 4, on education prices, is pretty competitive price-wise. Probably a bit overkill since you already have Logic (I have used Cubase (full version) for my sequencing and recording for years, very happy wi...

Re: Meaning of a British phrase

"Fixin' to" "I'm fixin' to take out the trash." "I'm fixin' to run up to the store." "I'm fixin' to go to sleep." On and on it is used but I have yet to see it in print. Cormack McCarthy uses the phrase 'fixin' to' all the time, since a lot of his stories are...
