Re: Presets of colors for icons in binder

Hi Amber, there is a known bug (...) Wait one tick for the auto-save to kick in and it should work fine. No result here. I think you just ran into some glitches by deleting that special label. What do you mean with 'that special label'? Did I delete something relevant? Now, I cleaned up all 'conflic...

Re: Presets of colors for icons in binder

Hi Amber, Thanks for your help. Unfortunately your suggestion doesn't seem to work. * I did step 1 and 2. * Emptied the colors (labels) of the target project. * Dragged the colors of the source project into the target project so that they are identical in every aspect. * Closed both projects, restar...

Presets of colors for icons in binder

Situation now In each Scrivener file one can make a list of colors for use on files and folders within the binder. The settings (which colors, number of colors, order of colors) are all made within a certain Scrivener file. As soon as one drags & drops files and folders to another Scrivener fil...

'Change icon' in Binder vs change color etc.

'Change icon' in Binder vs 'change color' or 'convert folder<>file' When one right-clicks on an icon in the Binder, the pop-up window is about changing the icon. Most of the time though, I want to change the color or convert folder<>file only. Due to habits learned in the Finder, I keep on clicking...

Re: Find & Replace Style function?

(...) copy out of Scrivener, fix and then paste back in. I do similar myself, though with plain-text editors, to do some kind of macro operation on the text. If you work on a Mac, can you recommend one? I have Bean, which is unable to do such a thing. Could only find LibreOffice. Or do you mean som...

Re: Find & Replace Style function?

I was giving a solution for a situation in which Scrivener falls short (to my knowledge). Focusing on formatting consistently in Scrivener may work if you write all stuff yourself, over a shorter period of time. But as soon as you start importing from all kinds of sources (for a project for example)...

Re: Find & Replace Style function?

• Launch LibreOffice (free) and open a text file.
• Copy/paste your text from Scrivener.
• Go to Edit > Find & Replace. There you'll have everything you want at your fingertips.
• Paste back in your Scrivener file.

Re: Alternative for 'lock in place'

:D

The strange thing is that it sometimes seem to work as I want, by pressing the Alt key during dragging, just as if I'm copying text. But I cannot find the clue to when it works and when not.

Re: Alternative for 'lock in place'

Thanks robertdguthrie , but, as stated, I am aware of the keyboard-shortcut for 'lock in place'. I also know 'cmd'+'k' for splitting. That is not what my question is about :| The procedure is now: 1. lock, 2. drag, 3.unlock. I would like: pressing a few keys while dragging a text selection to the bi...

Alternative for 'lock in place'

Hi guys, With the function 'lock in place' (shortcut: alt+cmd+l) one can drag a selection from a file to the binder (making a new file), preventing the editor showing the newly made file instead of the original. My question: is there also a combination of keys which I can use while dragging the text...

Re: Strikethrough requested

Thanks robertdguthrie for you advise. I knew that posibillity, but somehow I did not manage to get the right changes in Scrivener. I just tried again, tried some new combinations, and indeed I now managed to get a change. So magic advise Robert! Btw, I now use 'cmd' + '-' thus overriding the shortcu...

Re: Strikethrough requested

Allow me to come back on this topic. I do think it is a pity I have to switch to Windows (which I will not) to be able to use a strikethrough button. Cannot tweak it myself unfortunately. But maybe it is possible to change the shortcut for strikethrough? It is now three keys, two would be better. Li...

Re: Strikethrough requested

Ah! Non-conformists! Tsk, tsk... Anyway, I do hope you'll reconsider. After all, keyboard shortcuts for Bold, Italic and Underline are even simpler than for Strikethrough, but nevertheless received a button. But maybe most important: it cannot be true Windows users are better off than Mac users. :mr...

Re: Strikethrough requested

Hi Keith,

Why was it taken up in the Windows version then? Or will it be removed?

Thanks,
