Re: iOS Update

Dear Maria & Keith, very sorry about my trite reply re iPod Touch. I too have one and use it for editing. My experience has been that using a good text editor like Byword is excellent. On the other hand, using Pages on the iPod (the only IOS app I have that does rich text) is horrible. The text ...

Re: iOS Update

You're going to use Scrivener on an iPod Touch?

What a legend!

Re: iOS Update

Keith, have you explored the possibility of export to, and sync with a Storyist file? That would allow Scriv users to use the Storyist iPad app. Sorry to be blasphemous (and I don't actually use any Storyist app), but Storyist seems to use a similar approach to writing as Scrivener. If you could pul...

Characters in script mode

I am just starting to poke around in the script writing functions. It looks very useful, but it looks like Scrivener can't populate character or location profiles as they are added to a script. Is that correct, or am I missing something?

Re: Import Mellel files

You are right, but I am guessing that there are a number of your users who also use Mellel (just from reading posts on the board). It would be useful to not have to convert to RTF in Mellel first.

Import Mellel files

I would love to be able to import Mellel files in their native format. Is there a facility to do this? :?:

Re: How do I set compile options permamently

Just don't use tables in Scrivener. Just...don't...! I know we will be told that Scrivener depends on the Apple environment for tables, but the fact is that tables in Scrivener SUCK  . I use Scrivener on a 13" MacBook Pro. Somehow, tables always get crunched up. Cells get pushed up agains...

Re: Need seamless Scrivenings view

Well, I love the scrivenings view, but one thing I would love is to be able to turn off the headings based on the document titles, and just use the headings that I insert into my document. It would need to be an option, because it would depend on people actually putting headings into their doc.

Re: Plain Text Sync, No Italics...

I'm really lost here. Markdown support for plain text export? Markdown **is** a plain text standard, and Scrivener **is** RTF. So, if Scrivener will provide formatting for markdown a la Ulysses, then great. But that has nothing to do with export. You can put your markdown markers into Scrivener now,...

Re: Wanted: text analysis capability

Just think about it. TAMS forces you to write your tags *in* the text. In other words it destroys the readability of it. They are very, very intrusive. And if you want a hierarchy of codes, well, you have to add the whole hierarchy. TAMS may work for the analysis of text where readability doesn't fi...

Wanted: text analysis capability

I think this has been suggested before, perhaps by me, but here goes again  . I would love to do text analysis in Scrivener (like NVivo for those of you who have used it). It seems to me that the tools needed are already there, and it fits with the philosophy behind Scrivener (so KB, please be...
