Re: Full Screen Mode with Typewriter Scrolling and Inline Annotations

It WORKED!!!! Thank you! I never would have noticed it without your help-- even after I read your post, I thought you must be mistaken, because (to me) "always jump to scroll line" seemed to suggest that it would jump to the end of the document. Thank you thank you thank you!

Occasional, random crashes....

Hello! I am working in Scrivener 3, and every now and then, usually when idle, Scrivener just shuts down. Yesterday it happened when I was working in another document: I saw the little "S" bouncing in the dock, and Scrivener disappeared. I use Google Backup and Sync to back up my documents...

Full Screen Mode with Typewriter Scrolling and Inline Annotations

You can see from the title that this is is quite specific. I often write a long passage, and then scroll back up to the beginning and mark the bits I like as "inline annotation." Then I export all the annotations as a separate document. I've been doing this for years in Scrivener. N...

Re: Using Scrivener for iOS for all or most of your Scrivening?

Thanks to all for the suggestions about keyboards. Thought I would report back that I tried the magic keyboard, and decided that for me the Smart Keyboard is going to be the best option after all-- somehow it's the one that manages to both "disappear" when I don't need it, and be available...

Re: How to Fix Scriv's Biggest Problem?

And, as KB mentioned above, with the new "link-back" feature in Scrivener 3, locating the original data for reference should be trivial. Assuming I understood what he said! For my part, I am convinced by this discussion that my "workaround" might actually be a smart work-flow in ...

Re: How to Fix Scriv's Biggest Problem?

* Receive edited draft in Word with tracked changes. Review and accept or reject all changes in Word. * Import the entire thing into a NEW folder within the original Scrivener project. Split and re-organize as needed. Yes, this is what I have finally ended up doing with Final Draft. In my case what...

Re: How to Fix Scriv's Biggest Problem?

Not quite what's being requested, but one way of approaching this in Scrivener 3 will be as follows: * Scrivener 3 has an option to include link-backs to each document in the exported Word or RTF file. When this is turned on, links are added at the top of each section that link to the document in t...

Thank you! Have a Smart Cover already, so this might just be the ticket. :)

Re: Using Scrivener for iOS for all or most of your Scrivening?

Thanks, Hugh. I got one of those (Smart Keyboard) and at the moment I don't like it, for lots of reasons-- the travel on the keys is weird, and it makes the iPad heavier, and actually is kind of floppy, so sometimes the iPad turns itself on when it's in my bag. I just looked up the "neat canopy...

Re: How to Fix Scriv's Biggest Problem?

I am very excited to see this feature, and find out whether it solves the challenges I face. I realize I'm late to the discussion, but thought my usage scenario might prove elucidating, both to the developers and to those who can't imagine why you need to reverse-engineer, returning to Scrivener aft...

Re: Using Scrivener for iOS for all or most of your Scrivening?

Slightly off topic, but I am considering getting Scrivener iOS, and have an iPad Pro which I use primarily for editing PDF's, using the Apple Pencil. For those of you who use the iPad, do you use an external keyboard? Which one? Thanks!

Re: Creating Google Calendar Webage in Scrivener

It's not possible to create a persistent live link to a page that requires a login. No matter what you tell Scrivener, the destination server will redirect you to its login page. Katherine Yes, but the above comment you made earlier makes me think that a difference browser might not cure my trouble...

Re: About Scrivener 3

Test, as in, you will soon have Scrivener 3 and will want to know how to use it: so read up. :) I will need to have have my head examined-- it took me a scary amount of time to parse the meaning of that statement. Does this mean that there won't be a beta? And also, any ideas about a release...

Re: About Scrivener 3

By now this question will appear to be off topic ( ) but: somebody mentioned a test at the beginning of this thread...? Any idea when we will see the beta?

Re: Creating Google Calendar Webage in Scrivener

Further updates: I set up a calendar in Keep-and-Share, which I love, actually, because there's a year-view option, but it turns out that even if I am signed in, the login page appears in Scrivener, and persists, as Katherine predicted in her response. I am able to embed the HTML share link, which g...
