Re: Scr3: Context-Menu for emptying trash is missing

You are, always, a mensch. Thank you for writing a life-changing program, and maintaining it with so much generosity and respect. I am grateful and impressed. :)

Re: Scr3: Context-Menu for emptying trash is missing

Who empties their Trash ten time a day? :) I wish there were an emoji for hand-raising. That would be me. It's fiddly behavior I indulge in when I'm having problems with story-- tidy the binder in any way possible. Surely that will improve things! I found this thread because I was trying to ...

Re: Dragging Binder into Scapple-- Titles Only?

Hi!
I see that this board is monitored, because other posts have gotten replies from the LL crew. I would love to hear an "official"response to the drag and drop problem I described above. Is there any hope of getting the old behavior back? Thank you!

Re: Dragging Binder into Scapple-- Titles Only?

Thank you for that idea. It would let me delete Scrivener 2 from my computer again, and would also take care of my "cluttered" index cards. I'll give it a shot. Since I've already posted here, I'm concerned about cluttering up the forums with duplicate posts. At the moment, thanks to you, ...

Re: Dragging and dropping in Outline View

Update: I opened the Scrivener tutorial and confirmed that the main outline window behaves properly. So I created a new project and dragged my old project into it, and now the main outline window works. My conclusion is that something broke when I opened this old Scrivener 2 project in Scrivener 3, ...

Re: Dragging and dropping in Outline View

Thank you so much for this quick reply. After hearing that this should be possible, I started playing around with my project, and have discovered something strange. If I select my draft in the binder, and have a single editor window open, and choose outline view, I am unable to drag and drop documen...

Dragging and dropping in Outline View

Hello! Owing to the new layouts, and the much improved outline view, I am experimenting with using outline views to help with structuring my story. I have discovered that when I drag and drop a document in outline view it immediately becomes nested under the document I dragged it to, instead of move...

Re: Dragging Binder into Scapple-- Titles Only?

You are correct! In my dismay, I failed to observe the details. What you describe mimics behavior that I'm seeing in Scrivener 3, generally-- if my index cards don't have a synopsis, the first several lines of the scene show up on the index card, and if my document doesn't have a title, the first li...

Re: Dragging Binder into Scapple-- Titles Only?

Because I'm on a deadline, and I'm desperate, I just downloaded Scrivener 2 from the App Store, and opened an old project, where I confirmed, to my dismay, that the binder drags EXACTLY as I had hoped-- titles only, instant access in Scapple. And yet there appears to be no way to do this with Scrive...

Dragging Binder into Scapple-- Titles Only?

Hello all! Apologies if this is an obvious and easily answered question. I did try doing some searches, and turned up nothing. I am starting a new project in Scrivener 3, and selected all the documents in my binder and dragged them into Scapple so I could so some structuring. I was surprised to see ...

I barely noticed the crossed wires-- I was more impressed that a mere mortal (and I realize from your profile that you are more than "mere") was able to sort it out.

Re: Occasional, random crashes....

Oh yes, I most certainly did-- see my mortified post above! As KB pointed out, I was playing around with all the shiny new buttons, enabled it, forgot that I enabled it, and got hoisted by my own petard.

Re: Occasional, random crashes....

UPDATE!

It's a FEATURE:

Scrivener/Preferences/Automatic Quit

I have disabled it.

Apparently this program has gotten way too smart for me.

Re: Full Screen Mode with Typewriter Scrolling and Inline Annotations

Absolutely saw it, loud and clear. Dismissed without reading, telling myself that I could always look it up later if I needed to. What harm could it cause? FWIW, I do think different wording might help capture the attention of other impatient users. And I definitely think some clarification a...

Re: Occasional, random crashes....

I know this happened at least once yesterday, and the day before, so I went into the Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports folder and didn't find a single crash report. I'm attaching a screenshot. This is interesting, because when I was searching the forum for other reports of this behavior, I ran across ...
