Re: No luck - Kubuntu 12.04

Did you try running Scrivener from the GUI's user menu? I installed on an upgraded Xubuntu (was Ubuntu 11.10, converted to Xubuntu in December, upgraded to 12.04 this weekend) without any issues.

Re: Visual Themes

I just grabbed the colors from Solarized and created my own color palette (OSX). It appears I could have just downloaded his palette and install it manually. I ran into problems, and it only took a few minutes to assign the colors manually. Once I created the color palette, then assigning them was f...

Lodging a Complaint...

I'd like to lodge a complaint. I was working on a series bible for my novel(s)-to-be. I got initially frustrated because I didn't think it would be that clean to link between files. So, I spent Sunday getting my computer to run a wiki tool I like that I knew could do just what I needed it to... Toda...

Re: Okay, what's after v1.1?

Ditto... :-) Buying Scrivener persuaded my wife to let me buy a Mac... but I'm a Linux guy at heart. Like that I can now use my Ubuntu netbook (12.04) for writing again.

Re: Convert MMD syntax to italics at export

This makes me a happy panda. For how I write, that's a good step toward letting me type in Markdown and compile directly. :-) I could even import an old markdown file and it would convert that markup. Possible to import a markdown file and covert that markup in the editor? Lets me get away with draf...

Project Compiles Wrong with Markdown to LaTeX

Howdy? I have successfully used Scrivener to publish something resembling a novel. It's available via CreateSpace and various ereaders. But, I'm much happier using Markdown compiling to LaTeX if I can manage it. Following the advice of the Beginner's Guide, I straight compiled my established project...

Re: Scrivener Series Development Bible

Just to say thanks. You started me down an interesting thread as I try to scale my mind from novel to series.

That'll probably do it for other slow authors like me.

Thanks, Not Kevin. ;-)

Re: Project Statistics A bit off...a Bug?

Got it... Not a bug in the software, a misunderstanding of the implementation. :-) I had recently compiled as synopsis (or some such). I recompiled as hardback 6x9 (custom format?). The manuscript wordcount reported as 4,481. So I'm still 8,000 words behind my schedule. But, it did not behave as exp...

Re: Project Statistics A bit off...a Bug?

To add... when I show project targets, I'm told the manuscript has 4,424 words and my session target is 1,781 words.

Project Statistics A bit off...a Bug?

http://dausha.net/scrivener-bug.png I am writing a novel that has 64 sections. I just finished the fourth section. When I tally up the individual word count for the sections, I have 3633 words. The entire manuscript should reflect that count, it says 1847. To get the pictured Project Statistics abo...

Re: Scriv on iPad, Redux?

There are more ballpoint pens on "the market" than mobiles, tablets and computers combined. :) Wow, that's a crude and poor analogy. I appreciate you were trying to be dismissive, but there is a more professional way to respond. (smiley face aside) There's no way to distribute Scrivener o...
