The Story So Far...

A couple years ago, I realized I'm an abstract-random thinker...I've mocked mindmapping only to find out that I think in mindmap. I was transitioning jobs at work and dumped all its myriad responsibilities on a whiteboard ala mindmap. Over a week I fleshed it out so that my successor could pick up w...

Re: Hyperlink behavior

Okay, as always I conclude I missed it in the documentation. There's no keyboard shortcut lookup in the Help. But, I have the beta from last week and everything is going great.

Re: Scapple and other platforms (iOS, Windows etc)

And here I was going to say, "the perfect place for Scrapple would be on the tablet/handheld." Especially if it sync'd via Dropbox to the desktop. I'm about to go to a meeting where I will have a lot of idle time. I just transferred some 2'x2' post-its (yes, feet not inches) for a story co...

Re: Hyperlink behavior

I'm sorry, have I missed something? I'm not seeing any hyperlink ability...which would be cool to have.

Re: Connection Feedback

So, then, how to break a connection?

Got it... re-drag the item. So

A B, drag B to A then
A --- B, drag B to A then
A B

Discovered by accident, but sort of works like one thinks it should... not used to not clicking the link to change/delete.

Re: Smart Quotes Not...

Sorry for taking so long to reply. You can see how infrequent my writing bouts have been lately. Installed Scriv 2.3.5 (and yes, your betas are very stable). Problem resolved.

Re: Smart Quotes Not...

Three quick tests: ⋅  If you select a bunch of text that has straight quotes and use the `Format/Convert/Quotes to Smart Quotes` menu command, do they convert? ⋅  Do you have 'Use smart quotes (“ ”)' checked off in the Corrections preference pane? ⋅  How well is the sm...

Re: Scrivener in the cloud

As for Scrivener as SAAS...I believe Celtx allows authors to maintain their source document in the cloud in just such a model. So, there's already one vendor in that niche. My general observation is in any given economic niche (industry, genre, etc.) there tends to be one Alpha company, a Beta compa...

Re: Kindle compile option

If the kindle option is the one I've used, yes. I have published one book to Kindle that was converted by Scrivener. Though, when I look at my compile options, it looks like Kindle format is my own, so I might be using my own version. Strange.

Smart Quotes Not...

I'm working on a manuscript. Last night all was right with the world, smart quotes were doing their magic. This morning, suddenly any new quotes I type are straight. It's more of an inconvenience than much else, a bit jarring having seen smart quotes being all smarty. Any way for me to get it back t...

Re: Toggle Content to Synopsis...

I see that I can select text and "Set Selected Text as Title." Is there a "Set Selected Text as Synopsis" like ability?

Toggle Content to Synopsis...

I just finished a paragraph outline of my next WIP, and split the paragraphs into individual files. Now I'm getting ready to move the paragraphs from the text portion to the Synopsis (card). Is there an easy way to do it, or am I forced to cut-n-paste?

Re: How to Make an Index

If you export to LaTeX, it is possible to generate an index. You would need to tweak the LaTeX template, AFAIK.
