Re: What's your back-up method of choice?

I would look at some of the online offerings to also provide a secondary offsite solution. I like Crashplan ( http://www.crashplan.com/ ) (with local backups to other machines in the house) and also offsite to other friends/family/their data center. Not affiliated except as a satisfied customer.

Re: Line breaks with separators

And just in case somebody finds this, an answer wound up getting posted in another thread: For Macs: use Opt-Return to add the empty line in the text field along with the custom separator For Windows: going to Notepad, typing in the entire separator that you want to appear between documents, the sel...

Re: newline in custom text seperator

going to Notepad, typing in the entire separator that you want to appear between documents, the select the whole thing and paste it into the field in scrivener

Very good, Robert!

That works like a champ. Should have thought of trying it.

Thanks again!

Any way to do this in Windows? I can't figure a key-code equivalent...

This is what I was asking in http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=18741&p=128437&hilit=separators#p128437, at least I think we're after the same thing.

Thanks,

Line breaks with separators

I've done some reading of the forum and the manual, and I'm thinking this isn't supported, but decided I would go ahead and ask... hope that's ok. I would like to use a Text File Separator that is a blank line or two, a string of characters, then another couple of blank lines. I can do the character...

Police help blind author

I thought this was just slick... blind lady who writes by hand (pen), managed to write a bunch without any ink. Local police used their forensics techniques to recover her work. http://www.bridportnews.co.uk/news/lymenews/9641490.Police_salvage_blind_Trish_Vickers__inkless_novel_pages/ Good on them ...

Re: Organizing pdfs AND word files?

I don't think Zotero would be of much use to Ellida, because Endnote already handles bibliography. I dabbled with Zotero and never got on with it, myself. But I don't much like Firefox, which may have had something to do with it. Overall, however, I prefer to have my references on my hard disc, not...

Re: Organizing pdfs AND word files?

Especially if you live in a browser, you might check out Zotero (http://www.zotero.org/). I used it a bit and kind of liked it. For what I was doing, the "lock in" of a tool bothered me, but for your type of research, might be just the thing.

Re: Urgent: Reward for help with the non-saving bug

I'm sure I've probably just missed the obvious, but where do things stand on the non-saving bug? This thread seems to have concentrated on an issue with upgrading from previous versions where a setting didn't get cleaned out (which does sound plausible), but I wasn't sure if research has ended, if a...

Re: A Binder Question : Curiosity

Forgive a newcomer if I'm presumptuous here, but I thing one level of explanation that you might be missing is that the folder icon changing for text existing isn't if the folder contains text documents, but rather if the folder itself has text typed into it. Kind of unique from other software, a Sc...
