Re: Template Question

Just in case anyone is wondering, this is still true as of Windows version 1.2.5. And no, this is not a plea to fix it :) , but just a notice that you still see those placeholders and there's still no mention in the manual. The only thing I would ask, though, is if this hasn't been implemented by th...

Re: Making Scrivener compatible with speech recognition.

I’m using Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 11.5, Premium Edition, with Scrivener Version 1.0.3. I haven't used it extensively because I'm just getting started, but it does seem to work. I, too, use Dragon when my wrists start acting up. This past week I've been in meetings taking copious notes, and ...

duende, where did you find the crash report? I thought it would be in a Scrivener log file somewhere, but I couldn't find it searching for *.log

Re: Beta 035 crash (report attached)

I just had my first crash ever. I'm going to try to find the crash report, but in the meantime, here's what was going on at the time. I had Scrivener open, but was using Firefox to research something. I found something I wanted to store for later use. Back in Scrivener, I clicked Research on the lef...

Re: Writing a Book Series (Need Ideas/Suggestions)

I'm glad to see something on writing series. I'm working on book three in an on-going series. My Series Bible is currently in Word, but I like the idea of having it also in Scrivener. I didn't even think of running two instances of Scrivener (I'm on a PC). Great idea!

Re: Beta 035 file -- trojan attached?

I downloaded it again and was able to install it without any problems this time. I did one thing differently, which I doubt had anything to do with it, but I'm mentioning it just because it *was* different. Both times I downloaded using Firefox. The first time, I just double-clicked the downloaded f...

Re: Beta 035 file -- trojan attached?

I just downloaded it from the web site and it installed without a problem. I'm on Windows 7, using Microsoft Security Essentials. I forgot to run the installer as Administrator, so I was expecting an error, but it seems okay. I spoke too soon: Error copying file from packed archive C:/Program Files ...

Re: Character Tracking and To-Do Lists

Mike, I use keywords for character tracking in a slightly different way. In this post I give a couple of examples: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=14053&p=103142&hilit=char+alicia#p103142 If you use keywords, then in the search box (top right of the window), ...

Template question

I have a question about the default novel template. I couldn't find my answer in the doc or in the rest of this forum, so it might just be me having a general misunderstanding of how things work. The Title Page for the template has a number of things enclosed by angle brackets. For example, we have:...

Re: Nanowrimo option for Windows

I found the little grey round thing, but for me, Ctrl-T doesn't work. If my cursor is in a paragraph, it does something to the paragraph (looks like it's increasing the indent). If it's not, I don't see anything happening. The following is what it says in the doc. 18.1.1 Project Targets The project ...

That's Scrivener's new No Goofing Off feature. If it detects you've been watching videos instead of writing, it punishes you when you return. :D

Re: Where can I buy Scrivener for Windows?

As the others have said, Scrivener for Windows isn't yet available for purchase, but once it is your license will cover all computers in your household that you own or are owned by family members living with you as well as an installation for personal use on an additional computer outside the home ...

Problem with mulit-select and drag of keywords?

This post applies to the beta 026 version. In http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=13898#p103146, I said: Also, I just discovered something cool about keywords. I'm tagging a bunch of scenes that all have certain keywords because they're related. I was going into each sce...
