Converting private script format for Scrivener

While I was recently working on a Script Frenzy script, I discovered that when the Muse really hit me hard, typing the words in "Script mode" was just too slow. I wanted something even faster. So I invented my own format: (Juliet stands on the balcony. Romeo is in the garden below.) J:(cal...

Re: Seeing Dropbox right...

Just thought of an issue with using source code management systems like svn, git, or Mercurial. Somewhere in a Scrivener project there is at least one file, perhaps more, that contains the metadata for the project, e.g., the structure of the project, the names of the folders and text documents withi...

Re: Seeing Dropbox right...

Okay, I'll bite. If I was collaborating, I wouldn't use Dropbox at all. If the project was not too large, I would probably recommend Google Docs. But if things were large or complex in some way and you wanted to remain independent from your collaborators for the most part (this is the "distribu...

Corrupt Project

I have what I consider to be a corrupted Scrivener project. This project was created in 021. And I think, though I'm not sure, that it was probably corrupted in 021. I'm currently using 023. The project is a stage play. Most of the text files are in script mode. If they're not in script mode, they'r...

Re: Index cards

I agree. This happens at more places than just the synopsis card. For example, while typing dialog in script mode, one is forced to use the Edit->Insert menu as well. I would vote for the ability to use some key combination, like ALT+Enter or CTRL+Enter, to enter a "raw" CR+LF.

Re: screenplays

I found my general issue with getting files into script format. For me, it was a problem of focus. If the text file that I wanted in script mode did not have focus (that is, the text cursor was not blinking inside it), then I could not select script mode. But if I clicked inside the text file and, t...

Extra carriage returns in scripts?

I need to have more than one paragraph of dialog per character. How do I enter raw carriage returns in scripts? Or is there some other way to do it? And, no, switching to "general text" is ineffective. I simply get the script elements popup when I type a carriage return in a general text s...

Synopsis popup wrong

Edit the beginning of a synopsis (early enough that the synopsis popup should change). Then hover to bring up the popup. It will not have changed to reflect the edit. (Now... ready for this...?) Go to another running application (like this forum, perhaps), then back to Scrivener. The popup will now ...

Unable to select "General Text"

There is a condition under which I am unable to select the "General Text" item from the script elements menu in the footer view of a text file in script mode. To recreate, do the following: 1. Create a text file. 2. Type CTRL+M to get into script mode (You may run into an existing bug gett...

Re: screenplays

I can confirm having the same problem with a new screenplay project. What I did to get the text files into script mode was to delete them and create new ones. Then I could select the other two items in the Format > Scriptwriting menu. Until I recreated them, I was unable to select either "Scrip...

Re: Numbered list Bug

A variation of this bug (also confirmed in 021) is a user's attempt to paste text from one list item to another. To reproduce: - create a list of items - copy (CTRL+C) some text from one of the items - go to another item in the list - click at the end of this second item to place the cursor there - ...
