Re: Set Editor zoom percentage per installation, not per project

It's not the computers' settings that are the problem. It's Scrivener. Let me show you. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11756316/screen.PNG On this screenshot you see Scrivener with zoom set to 100% against LibreOffice Writer with zoom set to 100%. The font face is the same (PT Sans), the font s...

Re: Set Editor zoom percentage per installation, not per project

Sorry for the veeeery late reply. :) See, that's exactly what I was talking about. In any other application 12 pt looks the same regardless of the particular computer's screen resolution. If I have, say, a LibreOffice file with font set to 12, it looks just the same both on big PC and on small netbo...

Set Editor zoom percentage per installation, not per project

Seeing how nobody ever replied to this question in tech support subforum, I conclude that this is not currently possible. So I'd like to add it to a feature wish list. Please make it possible to tie Editor zoom percentage (found at the bottom of the window between the Binder and the main Editor wind...

Zoom percentage per installation, not per project

Hello everybody! Is there a way to tie zoom percentage (found in the bottom of the window between the Binder and the main Editor window) to an individual Scrivener installation instead of to a project, so it persists with whatever project is opened on a particular machine? I usually work on the same...

Re: Which Linux distro do you use for Scrivener?

Xubuntu 14 on an old Samsung NC10 netbook. Installed on count one-two, no hitch whatsoever. NC10 is the last mobile computer I've seen which has a normal keyboard. I really hate those modern island type disasters which are now called keyboards and installed in all laptops. Now it kind of looks like ...

Also you can add it to the formatting toolbar so it's always right at hand via "Customize toolbars..." :)

Re: Windows 1.2.1 Update Released 18th June 2012

I'm really sorry for interrupting, but since people wished to see those who had no problems updating, I guessed I'd speak. :) I updated Scrivener on three machines: a Win XP Pro SP2, a Win XP Home SP3 and a Win 7 Home Premium. All of them are non-English (Russian, to be precise), two of them are not...

Re: Edit name list for generator?

I suspect that it can, in fact, be edited, although I haven't checked yet. The database with the default list of names is in the directory where Scrivener is installed. It's in SQLite format. I gather that if you used a piece of software able to manage SQLite databases, then you could edit the built...

Re: Edit name list for generator?

I didn't mean to say that we were being picked on or something. :) It's just that it was really funny experience and it was only logical to think that names of other origins had the same amount of mistakes in them. And you're absolutely right, everything needs to be double checked before it can be u...

Re: Edit name list for generator?

That's a good trick, actually! I will need to try it. Thank you for the pointers! :) However, the... erm... weird built-in list of Russian names will still stay in Scrivener and somebody might try using it. :D I don't want to even think about whether the name lists of other origins have the same pro...

Re: Edit name list for generator?

Oh, the name generator... :D I do hope nobody seriously uses it for generating Russian names, because I tried it out of curiosity and cannot stop laughing now. :D As far as I can see, there is a way to import your own list of names. However, it's not clear whether my own list will replace the whole ...

Re: MultiAuthor, MultiComputer Projects

I'd say, make a zipped archive and put it into the Dropbox. Then your co-author can take the archive, unzip it and replace the contents of her local project folder with the archive's contents. After she's done editing she can do the same. I hope the bandwidth is not a problem, because in case of col...

Re: Will it run OK on my subcompact notebook???

It will work okay. I use a 10.1'' Samsung netbook with the same characteristics (well, all Atom netbooks are almost identical) and haven't noticed any significant differences between Scrivener running on a netbook and on a desktop computer (apart from the screen size, obviously). The project I'm wor...

Re: Feature Requests: Zip Backup

I'd like to support Metonymy's request about changing the backup naming scheme. With the way it is now I have to rename the backups, which is not convenient. Allow the user to choose the scheme, and that will probably satisfy everyone. As for storing the backups in the cloud or on one's website, the...

Re: Working on multiple computers

Won't say that my way is the ideal one, but maybe somebody will find it useful. I use it for a bit different reason (only one of my computers is really private and I hate it when people poke their uninvited noses into my writings), however it probably can be used in order to achieve smooth work acro...
