Scriverner 023 hang and other woes

Hi all, Posted a Scrivener crash yesterday, probably in the wrong forum (Lee's update 023). Today a freeze and some other weird behaviour. The freeze occurred after a copy and paste style to convert some bolded large font down to something normal. Then hit enter and tried to paste in a URL, and it f...

Re: 13th APRIL - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 023 RELEASED - Crashed 023

:( Just crashed 023. I had previously pasted in a reference from Zotero in Chicago style, (not the RTF scan style that makes a citation) and it had a hanging indent which had a bug. The reference pasted as three lines and the leading line first words were not visible, being obscured to the left by a...

Re: 13th APRIL - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 023 RELEASED

Hi Clive, Thanks for the response. No. No image in the original document. That was the mystery. It's easy enough to work around, because the text appears below the grey "image" just fine. However I posted it as a bug, because it is a bug, not because it can't be worked around. I know from ...

Re: 13th APRIL - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 023 RELEASED - Import Bug

Hi Scrivener Elves. I just tried a drag and drop import of a Word 97-2003 doc (in Vista) to Scrivener. All behaved normally except that the RTF conversion must have picked up something weird in the doc header. There is no visible header in the original doc, but Scrivener rendered a large initial are...

Re: 9th APRIL - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 022 RELEASED

I am absolutely dying for some form of tagging or commenting on individual paragraphs or sentences which does not show up in the main text (like annotations) and which can be separately searched to be added. MM replied: This really is what the annotations are for, and you can use Find by Formatting...

Re: 9th APRIL - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 022 RELEASED

Great that Lee is fixing bugs so expeditiously. Here's a little mystery. I thought I would check out other Scrivener 2.2 templates so created a "test" template in "Paper, (APA)". Noticed that the bottom bar with the wordcount etc was not showing (in all three panes, binder, doc a...

Re: 9th APRIL - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 022 RELEASED

Love getting to test drive a new version and excited by extra menus. Not had a good look around yet, but noticed a tiny polishing item. I have added a Scrivener shortcut to my Quick Launch (Win Vista) and while the shortcut opens the new version, the Quick Launch shortcut itself still reads "Sc...

Re: Thesis student feedback

Two degrees of separation there! I am a fellow PhD sufferer. My sister who writes science fiction fantasy recommended Scrivener to me, as she uses a Mac and loved the Mac version, and thus had heard about the Win version. I posted about it to RMIT Yammer. Inger Mewburn who is "The Thesis Whispe...

Re: 5th MARCH - LEE'S UPDATE

When XMarks (sync FF bookmarks across platforms) was about to close down last year, the user community got together and used "Pledgebank" http://www.pledgebank.com/ to keep it alive. The other alternative would be for the Scrivener team to add a "donate" button to the website and...

Re: 25th MARCH - LEE"S UPDATE - FINAL BETA RELEASED

Thanks. That will drop my stress levels no end, not to mention Lee's. But the Scrivener for Windows front page http://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivenerforwindows/ makes no mention of it. And the post it is in is a bit misleadingly titled (5th March) since its not the most recent release post. (I ...

Re: 25th MARCH - LEE"S UPDATE - FINAL BETA RELEASED

Not panicking or anything. (Yet). Just noting that this version is due to run out on this coming Sunday. How's progress on the final going? Guessing its about to ruin your weekend. Can forgive bugs, so long as I'm not deprived of my Scrivener.

Big exhalation of held breath! Uninstalled, and it reinstalled very politely with no need to go fishing for my main project. Lee Powell and Christopher Reeve separated at birth but both superman. :D

Re: 18th MARCH - LEE'S UPDATE

Lee, Taking up narrsd's well made point @ Sat Mar 19, 2011, The "short-fire cut-off dates for releases" presumably had an original justification in building trust and a sense of reliability amongst users, showing that Scrivener is not one of these "big companies that over promise"...

Beta 1.9 does not support landscape PDF import

Beta 1.9 appears not to support an imported PDF which has both portrait and landscape oriented pages. Screenshot attached
