Re: Rename the saved search tab? Help! Upgrade wont open!

My problem just went from a small one to a really big one. I installed 1.0.3 from 1.0.1 "updates" and now nothing will open it and there is no error message - just nothing! Did a search in Win Explorer for .scriv and most appear to be in Docs but they are mostly my own "Backup to...&q...

Re: Rename the saved search tab?

I'll admit to running Scrivener Win 1.0.1 but saving a search did not bring up a dialogue box for me. I just ran the search and after searching the forums for how to save it, clicked the magnifying glass icon on the tab which saved it, but no amount of right clicking on anything would give me any op...

Rename the saved search tab?

Hi, I have just discovered how to save searches which looks like a really useful feature. However so I don't end up with a collection of tabs called "saved search", is it possible to rename the tab? I can't find a way suggested in the forums. PS It would be kind of nice to have some kind o...

Re: Help! Did something stupid now project won't open!

Thanks. That was a pretty accurate description. Fortunately I found a recent (manual) backup that only lost a couple of paragraphs. It was my own fault for "tidying up" when I was tired. The auto backup occurs every time I close Scrivener, but I'm not sure where they are kept. I need to do...

Help! Did something stupid now project won't open!

Hi, I stupidly moved Scriv backup files around and now even when they are put back where I (think I) originally located them , I get an error when I try to open my main very precious project. The binder will open correctly but all docs are empty. The error message reads, "Cannot access: 'C:/Use...

Re: Multiple storyline management?

"Lanes" or theme storyboarding would be great for non fiction writing as well. I keep coming back to longitudinal themes in my (Scrivener written) thesis and wondering if I have written something just like that before, somewhere else. Tracking it and even better, planning it would be great...

Re: Windows v1 vs mac v2 - features not present?

I want something that I think ought to be pretty simple to implement. Fixed line numbering that when turned on pastes and exports to other formats. Really useful for locating stuff in long docs.

Scriv 1.0.1 small bugs

First congrats on a red letter day . Well done Lee! Some small bugs. If installing 1.0.1 over beta 49, and using the internal updates method, Windows brings up its "Scrivener.exe has stopped working.." dialogue when the installation process closes the old Scrivener. The manual seems to be ...

Re: BETA 049 RELEASED - can't find projects .

Did a full install from 0.35 to 0.49 and now I can't find my projects. "Open Recent" says "Clear menu". I could reinstall from a backup using "Open existing project", but I am unsure of which part of the backup to install. Would existing project files have been saved an...

Re: LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 035 RELEASED

Usual wave of anxiety on uninstall, but reinstall worked without a hitch. Lovely work! Looking around I noticed Format > Bibliography /Citations... (which may or may not have been there in 029, attention was on panic writing at the time) Can we have a short explanation of how this works? Is it linka...

Re: Line numbering runs out at 99

It was 0.0.29. I tried (after recovering, just now) resetting the margins back to something more normal in "Tools > Options > Editor" and it worked ok without crashing. It seemed to be moving the ruler tab marker that set it off originally. I don't have a problem now with overhanging inden...

Forgot to say, I had done a "select all" (Ctrl A) before adjusting the ruler tab.

Re: Line numbering runs out at 99

That half worked. I had another problem where the top line had run off the visible margin in several places. I adjusted the margin in Tools> Options.Editor as you suggested and Scrivener applied that ok. Then when I grabbed the top tab indicator on the ruler to drag it back to actually being on the ...

Re: Line numbering runs out at 99

Ah ha! You cracked it! Well done you, and I feel dumb! :D However, its not the first time I have had a problem with things going beyond the margin. It would be quite useful if Scrivener had a virtual margin like Word, (adjustable of course for those who value screen real estate) so you could see mor...

Re: Line numbering runs out at 99

Its getting weirder. 1 The not pasting thing. I double checked this by pasting into Word and it worked fine. The numbers were visible. It must have been the form field for comments to this forum that did not display them when I tried to paste to it. 2. Testing by renumbering I tried a second bit of ...
