For me personally, I don't see the benefit over using a cloud service on your phone or tablet. I tried playing with the document service on Kindle but never made it part of my writing arsenal. Further, I don't think you can compose on a Kindle effectively. Typing is much too slow. Of course that's t...
I've never seen one. I wouldn't for any type of official writing as I don't think they are recognized as proper. But it looks cool and I think using it in casual work is A-OK.
I don't have an iPad, but I do recall something about in-line annotations and document syncing with ipad apps. I think that they get turned into bracketed text (don't know which brackets) on the iPad apps, and then those are translated into annotations when you sync back to Scrivener. If you check ...
If I'm writing in Scrivener I use annotations and highlights. Lately though I've been writing on my iPad and importing into Scrivener as I go, so I've been using the "xxx" with a small note about why I'm putting the "xxx". That will get me through the first draft. When I'm done I...
If I'm reading this correctly, what you need is your space between lines to be decreased so that 30 12 pt font lines will fit on a standard page with 1 inch margins all around. Turns out this is six points. (I just went on Word and played with it until 30 lines fit.) So it's somewhere between single...
Okay, everyone who is reading this must now go purchase a copy of On Writing to compensate Mr. King for this usage. Truly a remarkable book. I have an audiobook copy, a paperback and a hard cover, so two of you can ride my coattails. The rest of you, go get it. :) Seriously, though, you won't be sor...
Thanks! I enjoyed Nano so much. Haven't done it for a couple years now, but participated and completed five Novembers before that. I think it's something every writer should try.
I have found a daily word count requirement that I can easily reach, which has allowed me to move forward on my current novel. Today is day 24 and I have now written over 18,000 words. By Christmas I'll have a first draft and about 100,000 words. Admittedly it's not a big requirement. I can do it in...
Today is my birthday and I got a Zaggmate iPad keyboard/case combo. It was definitely the missing element in using my iPad as a writing machine. It's a full keyboard, but smaller. I have very large hands and was worried that I wouldn't be able to type quickly on the little keys. But I quickly got us...
A touch off the subject, but if you are syncing a new project through Drobox to work on outside of Scrivener, make sure you don't have any files from previous syncing in the folder you use. It makes a bit of a mess with the auto-numbering when coming back into Scrivener.
