Re: How to get rid of spaces between paragraphs?

I've seen this behavior as well, even after having done a global font override during Compile. There are paragraphs (copied from other documents) which have different line leading and there is more vertical space between occasional paragraphs than the norm. Is there a way to globally fix this? The p...

Re: How Do I Set Up Margins For A 5.5" X 8.5" Paperback Novel?

Don't forget the binding offset. A longer book will need wider margins. Learning about book construction is a journey through the rabbit hole. There is a great deal of material out there. If you're just looking for quick information about the text block and proportions, you can look at the manual fo...

Re: Compile Problems

As a work-around, if you can compile to print you can print that file on the Mac using the "PDF-Save to PDF" (lower left hand of the Mac OS print dialog) in order to get a pdf.

Re: Text Template?

Can a document template contain specific text that will always be present upon opening?
A simple example would be the memorandum format; a more complex example would be a federal appellate pleading.

Along the same lines, is there a way to make the image fit into the editing window without scrolling?

Re: compile outputting to word in courier?

For what it's worth, Courier has its uses. One of them is for quickly estimating word count: a sheet of letter sized paper written using double-spaced Courier will contain approximately 250 words (I don't know if A4 is the same). Times Roman was designed for narrow columns, which a sheet of letter-s...

Re: German Umlaut & LaTeX

1. Make sure you're using XeLaTex in Texshop. 2. Make sure "Substitutions" are unchecked in Texshop. This may not seem obvious, but the author or Texshop proposed it as a fix to the problem of bringing in Mac-Roman encoded text over and trying to use it in a UTF-8 environment. The fix was ...

Re: Hemingway Mode

Amber:

Before posting I did look for "Hemingway mode" and found no references.
I did not search for "blockwriter" or any of the various other programs that have this feature.

Re: Hemingway Mode

The humorous responses aside, this was a serious feature request. There are several programs out there which have this feature. The first of which I am aware of is "Blockwriter" which was a project of Khoi Vinh of the New York Times. Nathan Kotodny's cloud-based "Draft" has a sim...

Hemingway Mode

The so-called "Hemingway mode" would prevent the writer from making any edits while writing. This would be a nice feature to have.

How to Print the Binder?

Is there any way to print the Binder? Not the documents contained therein, just a text file with the various folder names maintaining folder hierarchy.

Appearance Question & Suggestion

I remember that someone posted a "dark" color-themed version of the beta; would it be possible to post these settings? Secondly, both the letter-size and A4 sized manuals are a bit unwieldy when bound. An A5 or 6x9 version would be helpful. Why not make a bound version available through Cr...
