Sendmail.cf and (later) even the m4 macro configuration shortcut for sendmail.cf are still many orders of magnitude more WTF.

Re: Trouble exporting to MOBI

No the issue is still whatever you type into Scrivener's field called 'KindleGenfile Executable' it has to relate to a directory where the file is located on my PC and this just isn't showing . The %appdata% is a Windows shorthand to go to the location of your AppData directory, which is a per-user...

Re: Compile issue - Kindle Gen

I'm new to Scrivener and just done a test compile for a .Mobi file, however, it is asking for access to Kindle Gen. This is no longer available to download from Amazon and has been preceded by Kindle Previewer. Anybody help with a solution? See this post for the steps I took to get the Scrivener be...

Re: Cannot open a project file and cannot update application

The second issue is when I try to update I get message saying Scrivener is running from a read only device or disk image. Where does the Scrivener application live? Did you actually install it into your Applications folder, or are you launching it from the .dmg disk image file that is provided for ...

Re: [Question] Is "two page" view going to be available?

Note that last we heard the official stance is that Scrivener 3.0 for Windows is aiming to have initial feature parity with features that existed in version 3.0 for Mac. If the two-page view was added to a post 3.0 build of Scrivener for Mac, then it may not be considered in-scope for the 3.0 releas...

Re: Accidentally Bought Wrong License - URGENT

That's good to know. I've worked myself in a frenzy over this issue for almost two days. I didn't think I would like Scrivener has much has I have, and the idea of going back to regular word is frustrating, but I am willing to do it, if it means I get my scrivener back at the end. One thing you can...

Re: "Writing History" doesn't appear in the project menu?

Yes, version 3 was released in November 2017... https://www.literatureandlatte.com/introducing-scrivener-3 https://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener/release-notes?os=macOS Note that version 3 is a 64-bit application, so your version of Mac OS will need to support 64-bit apps. If you are running ...

For all licensing issues, you have to contact them directly via email. For privacy reasons, they cannot handle licensing issues on the forums. In your email over the holidays, did you include the tag "URGENT" in your subject? If not, try responding to the message you sent and adding that t...

Re: Scrivener is all "Fuzzy" on Surface Pro 7

A tip from my use of a Surface Pro 7 is that you can't rely on the SD card as the primary or probably even the backup location for documents. That is because the SD card tends to unmount every so often, reportedly because when the battery on the device gets low it chooses to not supply enough volta...

Re: Scrivener for Windows

It's disheartening reading the bullying that goes on with legitimate questions being asked. If my recent "I gotta confess" post triggered this response, I will just point out that I was directly responding to the implication that L&L are not acting in good faith. "Rope a dope&quo...

Re: Scrivener for Windows-just not good enough

This whole project is beginning to feel like more of a rope a dope exercise than a legit effort. You're right. I gotta confess! Back in mid 2017, the entire senior staff of L&L flew me and a bunch of other forum posters to a super-secret location on an island in the South Pacific. After several...

Re: [SUGGESTION] Editor Character AND Word Count

For my money, Scrivener beta is becoming more and more anti-keyboard and I do not like that. It is, after all, a writing program, and writing means (on a computer at least) keyboarding. If I had my way, when my butt is in the chair, my fingers would never leave the keyboard. (Who's with me?) To be ...

It's not a script, you've simply managed to turn on logging mode.

In your Options window, if the following is checked, uncheck it:
