Re: Using Scrivener with Dropbox

Dropbox can be paused, by clicking on its icon in the menu bar and then hover over the status bar to see it turn into a pause button. If you’re on a metred account, there is no sense in running it constantly anyway. A number of people like pausing it while working in Scrivener anyway. I do at least...

Re: Scrivener and Surface Pro 3

Has anyone tried the Windows version of Scrivener on the new Surface 3 tablet? The machine is supposed to run full Windows 8.1 but I am not sure if this is true when using it as a tablet (without the keyboard cover), relying totally on the touch screen and the screen keyboard. I am particularly con...

I do, but I use a docking station with full screen and keyboard, since most of my writing is at my desk. I consider the laptop to be "good-enough" for shorter sessions.

Ever since I found out about this Kickstarter (after it had closed, alas), I've been lusting after this: The Model 01: an heirloom-grade keyboard I currently have a Unicomp 101 because of th...

I am, on my Surface Pro 3, with my new Dell 34" UWHQ curved monitor.

So far, NO complaints whatsoever.

Re: Source control/version control integration

Isn't this what Scrivener's snapshot feature is for? I haven't played with it, as I'm mainly a Windows user, but my impression was that it was there to give you multiple point-in-time versions of your work as a safety net, not to allow the full set of branch/merge workflow that source control gives...

Yup. Something like this (see link) would make more sense, a curved screen 3440x1440. http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/dell-dell-ultrasharp-34-4k-ultra-hd-curved-led-monitor-with-8ms-response-time-u3415w-black-u3415w/10361420.aspx?path=59bbf494ddf7d7d5569984da33912081en02 Just wanted to mention ...

Many clients do those translations from what you see to the special escaped characters in the background -- so the space does get translated to %20, etc.

Source control/version control integration

I've been quietly pondering this a while now. I even mentioned it in this previous thread . However, I think it should be a separate topic. I would love to see Scrivener have limited ability to tie in to various third-party source control programs (Git, CVS, Subversion, etc.). It wouldn't have to be...

Re: Wish for Scrivener and Scapple for Android

And while it's true that Google Docs offers excellent real-time collaboration features, it's *still* only capable of handling one document at a time, with nothing resembling the organizational and multi-document features that set Scrivener apart. That, and it's not terribly difficult to create prob...

Re: MAC to Windows via drop box.

Until now I have been using Scrivener on my Mac. I have now got a Microsoft Surface and bought and installed scrivener for this. However I cannot get the scrivener files that I have stored on Drop box from my Mac to open on in Scrivener on the Surface tablet. Any advice gratefully received. Are you...

Re: Windows 10 compatability

If you didn't get a disc, but you have a license (which I'm assuming you do) you should be able to get a disc from the manufacturer of your computer (assuming it was a name brand such as Dell, IBM, Lenovo, or whatever). The manufacturer must provide a disc (at a nominal fee) to anyone who requests ...

Re: Only one portion of screen works - Windows 8.1 issue?

FWIW, the "Get Windows 10" icon won't install it immediately -- it just gets you signed up and registered for it when it releases on July 29. Good luck! Lenovo bloatware is some of the worst. One of the reasons I finally stopped buying and recommending them both in consumer and business co...
