Flashing when asking for Project Stats

Possibly this has been mentioned but I never noticed it until the 049 release. If I hit Ctrl-comma I get the Project Targets dialog immediately. All numbers look great. If I hit Ctrl-period I get Project Statistics. I see two new problems, though the numbers seem fine. 1) The resultant table has ext...

Re: Cannot import .doc files--Beta 2.3[NOTED]

I just tried this and didn't have any problems. I did it this way:

1) Use Import into Research area.
2) Use Import into project folder.
3) Cut/Paste from word into an existing project file.

This was done on an HP laptop with Windows 7.

Re: 13th APRIL - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 023 RELEASED

Thanks for the quick update, Lee. No need to apologize for the problems. You're doing us a big favor by letting us use these beta versions in the way you do. I'm assuming that you know that the check for updates feature is still non-functional but thought I'd mention it in case I'm wrong. Thanks for...

Re: 9th APRIL - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 022 RELEASED

I see new find/replace options but it looks like the entire search and replace facility is nonfunctional. Doesn't work here, under Windows 7. What tool are you using and how? Testing both the regular find/replace and the Project Replace on Windows 7 in a small project I have no issues with either, ...

Re: 9th APRIL - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 022 RELEASED

Seems much faster, Lee, as you suggested. I assume you know that the autoupdater in .21 doesn't work to move to 2.2.

Saving cursor position in files

Am I the only one who grumbles daily over the fact that Scrivener saves the cursor position in files FOREVER? I remember a while back when someone asked that they be saved when they flipped between views, fiddled with their binder, etc. Lee responded and since then I've grumbled. I think the problem...

Re: 25th MARCH - LEE"S UPDATE - FINAL BETA RELEASED

The problem you're having with offencive vs offensive isn't a Scrivener problem, at least not directly. Sadly, the British electonic dictionary is the culprit and it's been complained about in other venues where spell-checking comes into play. Some say these are very old spellings that are no longer...

Re: Will the Find/Replace facility be fixed before release?

That's a good idea...sometimes. But yes, I do often search/replace the same number of characters. I really think that is besides the point, however :-)

In the end, not being able to do a Find throughout a novel divided into chapter files is a far bigger problem.

Will the Find/Replace facility be fixed before release?

Since this is the last beta before release, I'm wondering if the search and replace facility will change before release. I see two problems with it. 1) While search/replace seems to work on multiple selected files, there is no indication that it has worked. 2) The Find option doesn't work at all on ...

Well shazaam! I should have thought about the opacity possibility. You're right, that was the 'problem.' Good to know that it wasn't one :-)

Bug (?) in new color options

I LOVE all the new color-coding options, Lee. It's probably silly but it makes Scrivener come alive. There seems to be a tiny bug in it however. If one sets a label color, that's the color you get in the binder AND in the little square that's always been colored inside the outliner. BUT, the color s...

Re: 24TH FEB - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 1.7 IS HERE

This seems to be common whenever Scrivener is doing any kind of "internal" processing (i.e. saving, checking for updates, etc.) For all we know the program may have frozen, or the feature may simply not be working. Basically what I am saying is this: Whenever Scrivener has to do something...

Re: 24TH FEB - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 1.7 IS HERE

I think I just realized why .odt import isn't showing up. I don't have OpenOffice installed, I have the fork: LibreOffice installed. Hmmm... I'm going to install OO, and see what happens. Can a check for LibreOffice (along with OO) be put in? This is the problem with the ODT compile option. I swapp...

Scrivener window size changes innappropriately

Hi Lee, I posted a question about opening/closing metadata and its effect on window size. You said: "Sorry Larry, I'm not clear what you are asking here or what you are trying to describe? Please can you create a new post and provide additional details or your screen resolution and machine type...

Re: 24TH FEB - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 1.7 IS HERE

Now I'm worried. I've been playing with Scrivener a bit, trying the new features and such. The first time it happened I figured I'd screwed up. The second time it happened I thought maybe there was a bug in the new feature. But the third time it did it all I was doing was deleting a space from one o...
