Re: Spelling Ubuntu 11.04

Thanks, cwoac! I installed libaspell -dev and relaunched Scrivener -- spelling is back for me on Ubuntu 11.04.

Re: Spelling Ubuntu 11.04

I upgraded to Natty a few days ago and spelling was working fine in Scrivener beta 11, which was the version I had installed at the time. Today I upgraded to Scrivener beta 13 and am now missing spellcheck. Aspell was already installed. I removed it and reinstalled it just to see, then relaunched Sc...

Re: Aaaarrgh! (in which I inexplicably lose ~4000 words)

Probably the case, Inrideo. I just installed Tracker and did a text search for some phrases in the missing chapters, but came up with nothing. I think it's time to dig in and rewrite what I had. Still -- curious to know what caused the two chapters to disappear in the first place. I don't think even...

Re: Aaaarrgh! (in which I inexplicably lose ~4000 words)

Have you tried examining the project files with another text editor to see if they're still intact?

I have, unfortunately. I opened all the .rtf docs in the project folder > docs folder (and in the backup project folder, too) but none of them are the chapters I'm missing. :(

Aaaarrgh! (in which I inexplicably lose ~4000 words)

I had a fairly productive writing day yesterday and added about 4000 words to my novel. The first section was copied from a full-screen text editor I also use and pasted over an existing chapter in Scrivener (the text I brought over from the full screen editor included the first part of that chapter...

Ah, that makes sense! Thanks so much to you both -- I'll give that a shot. :)

ETA: And success!! Awesome. Much appreciate the help.

Re: Beta 0.2.2 not working

Hey garpu, I tried to follow your instructions to manually link the lib files in your list and no matter what I do, only some of the files show as linked when I do ls -lh (I also still get the "file too short" error when I try to run ldd). I am not a Linux expert by any means, so chances a...

Crash when importing or viewing images

I installed Beta 1.7 for Linux from the community-provided .deb on Kubuntu 10.10. The project I'm working on has lots of .png images and text. Most of the images are independent files in their own folders (places and character casting for my own reference). This was working fine in the current versi...
