Re: Revision Mode on iOS?

PLEASE please please add the ability to do revisions in iOS. At the very least, I would like to see the text properly colored in the desktop version from revisions made in the iOS app if it's not possible to show revision colors in the iOS version. Revision colors are something I greatly depend on w...

Re: Manuscript word/character count issue

Thanks for the info! This makes sense. I didn't realize the application treated counts differently in projects over 100,000 words. The latest update of Scrivener coincided with me reaching 100,000 words and I thought it may have been an issue with a change that was put in. Got it all sorted out now....

Manuscript word/character count issue

I'm having a weird issue with manuscript word count in the Project Statistics window. When I open the panel, it says I have 100,840 words and 554,320 character count. I then click the "Update Printed Counts" button and after it spins for a while, it comes back with a Pages (printed) count,...

Sriv png package files not being deleted

This may be a bug, or this may be an observance based on ignorance on my part. Either way, wanted to report it here. I had created a new file from template - a character sketch - in my Scriv project. I then changed my mind and deleted the character sketch, deciding to go with my own personal templat...

Custom Meta-Data Colored Text

I created a custom meta-data entry and selected "Wrap Text" and "Colored Text." It was set to Red. I then added that column to the Outline View. After entering in several entries, I decided I didn't want the Colored Text and wanted it to display in black instead. I unchecked &quo...

Upgrade working?

Trying to upgrade to 2.0 from my mid-September purchase on this page: https://store3.esellerate.net/store/checkout/CustomLayout.aspx?s=STR4913460776&pc=&page=enteremail.htm and it's not recognizing the email. I did email sales a few hours ago to inquire about the issue, but just wanted to ch...

Re: Scrivener 2.0 - Coming Soon (No, Really)
does the "generous household licence" still apply? Second, is there a recourse for me when my laptop is hit by a bus... and I must now re-activate the software on a replacement device?
Ooh! Yeah, would love the answers to these two questions. Of c...

Re: Dropbox - online backups and synching between computers

So if DB whacks a file that is on disk but not being edited (not in the editor) then your backup will be corrupted. If the file corrupts, will I know right away or not until the next time I try opening it? I could then restore from the previous backup. Also, any idea on what causes the file to be w...

Re: Working off of network drives (MobileMe; DropBox...)

I've decided to try the opposite, actually. I work between two computers and don't want to constantly have to restore from backup when I switch computers. So I'm going to work inside Dropbox and have my backups outside Dropbox. If anything happens, at that point I will restore from the most recent b...

Re: Dropbox - online backups and synching between computers

I'm curious why the extra seconds matter so much to you, though. Are you charged per usage, or are on a high-latency connection or something? Or do you just dislike waiting the extra few seconds it'd take for stuff to sync between all of your computers once you close Scrivener on one computer? For ...

Re: Dropbox - online backups and synching between computers

Here's from their website here : Efficient sync - only the pieces of a file that changed (not the whole file) are synced. This saves you time. More info from their admins in the forums: Yes, DB syncs only the changed bytes, and nothing else, so incremental uploading is a core feature of DB. Not only...

Re: Dropbox - online backups and synching between computers

I forgot to add that what I liked about Dropbox when I used it with, say, Word was that it would only upload the part of the file that was changed when I saved it, instead of the whole file every time. Ideally, I would like that with Scrivener. Has anyone achieved this?

Dropbox - online backups and synching between computers

Thank you so much for adding in support for Dropbox in Scrivener 2.0 via the automatic backups! I'm new to Scrivener and it's a big adjustment for me to work outside my Dropbox folder in Scrivener, but the automated backups to my Dropbox folder definitely help that. I would love to hear people's exp...
