Re: LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 035 RELEASED

There is experimental code for drag and drop placement in the binder which folks might love or hate - it's experimental as I said, but the idea is to try and help with precision drag and drop placement. You're feedback on this is vital to whether it stays, is augmented, or just deleted. First of al...

Re: New words for dictionary

Thank you for those instructions, that's very helpful. Still in the interest of making the default included dictionaries the best they can be you can add "learned" to the words missing from the UK dictionary. Edit: It is perhaps a good idea sticky this thread as I see others asking questio...

Re: Words Spellcheck should know :)

I don't have much more to add at the moment, except to say that the words noted to be missing from the US dictionary also register as being misspelled in the British dictionary. Also for some bizarre reason it wants to replace the word offensive with "offencive" which to my knowledge is no...

On the other hand, the dictionary for British English doesn't recognize towards either.
Separate thread for faults in the British dictionary?

Re: Spell check not available[ADDITIONAL INFO]

In my case I do believe that keyboard setting reverting to Swedish during the install process had nothing to do with Scrivener and it was included in my report for completeness, just in case Lee could find some explanation in that which I could not see. The way it seemed to work for me is that whene...

Re: Spell check not available[ADDITIONAL INFO]

Don't worry about it (well, do worry about it but in a laid-back kind of non-heart-attack-inducing way). We all know how hard you work and appreciate it a lot. If I can have english spellcheck by the next version I'll be happy. And if I can't I will live with it, until the commercial version is rele...

Re: Spell check not available[ADDITIONAL INFO]

I can confirm that reinstallsing does not fix the problem. Neither does changing system languages or locations. I've spent several hours uninstalling and reinstalling the 1.4 Beta without the spell-checking problem being solved. What follows are my notes made during the testing. As I didn't manage t...

Re: Spell check not available[ADDITIONAL INFO]

This is exactly the problem I've been having.
I have tried to get it to work by doing a complete uninstall/reinstall without success but perhaps I missed something.
I'll do some further tests and see if I can get it working.

Re: CURRENT BETA DOWNLOAD (RELEASE 1.4)

The spell-checking has never worked for me in any version. At first I thought this was a problem with Scrivener running on computers with the language set to something other than US English as I live in Sweden. Even though I do write in English I thought that perhaps the program assumed that I would...

Re: Full Screen bugs [ADDITIONAL INFO]

I've also happened upon the bug where the text in full screen mode shrinks into one thin column. I've tried for an hour to replicate this reliably but have not yet found a way to do it. What I have noticed is the following: First time it happened to me I noticed it could be overcome by increasing th...

Re: [Bug-testing] Does doing this make your Scrivener lag?

As promised I have been using Scrivener for my writing today. I used a new project from the short story template and did not change anything other than the title of the project. I used the netbook as during my tests the lag was worse on that machine as well as surfacing earlier. Using scrivener for ...

Re: [Bug-testing] Does doing this make your Scrivener lag?

Succeeded in replicating problem on Desktop. (Running on Windows Vista Home Premium edition, Service Pack 2, Intel Core i7 at 2,67 Ghz and 6 gigabytes of memory). Having read other thread about lag and CPU usage I kept an eye on the CPU usage and noted those numbers. For what they are worth here are...

Re: [Bug-testing] Does doing this make your Scrivener lag?

Small thing I noticed during my tests yesterday that might help is that when I was experiencing lag when typing in the documents, I still experienced no lag at all when typing descriptions for scenes. I will be working at my desktop computer today and will see if I can replicate the problems there o...
