Screenplays in Scrivener: Jumping around and RTF exports

After loving Scrivener for Windows for my noveling, when an opportunity to write a screenplay came along I fired up Scrivener right away. So far it's been great, except... 1. New line. I tab to add a character name. If I hit enter and go straight to dialogue, I'm good. If I add (V.O.) or (CONT.) and...

Re: 5th MARCH - LEE'S UPDATE

Release it when you're ready, and for zing's sake take a breath now and then! I've been very impressed with the responsiveness to problems big and inconsequential, and I can't wait to see the polished version.

But I will. :)

Re: USER POLL -WHAT FEATURE DO YOU WANT FIRST AFTER RELEASE?

The .mobi and .epub exports would allow me to use Scrivener as my main writing program, so I'd be big in favor of those. Also would make it easier to take my drafts along with me on my iTouch and Kindle.

And that's the feature I most drool over when I wander by the Mac features page...

Re: 2nd DEC - LEE'S UPDATE

This is my 9th NaNoWriMo. Won five, lost three previously. This year was the easiest I ever won.

Still lots to do, but I really think Scrivener, even in its beta form, helped me win.

Upgrading to 1.3 did the trick for me. Thanks!

Delay in text showing up as I type

I've been using the Scrivener Windows beta since it was released, but I've only had this problem the last few days. I'll be typing along, and suddenly the words won't show up for 10-20 seconds or more. If I wait they suddenly pop in, but it's extremely aggravating and is about to push me away from S...

Re: Cursor Takes Up Entire Line

I just had the same problem happen to me. Screencap: http://bashinginminds.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/screencap2.jpg Extremely aggravating. Anywhere you place your cursor, a solid black bar appears to the right of it that goes across the screen and flashes at you. I got mine to go away by going ...

Re: Problems with underlining misspelled words [BUG LOGGED]

Note that both of those include punctuation. So not just an apostrophe or a quotation mark problem.

Re: Review at Daytona Beach News-Journal

Nope, but my demo shots were populated with the opening chapters of my 2008 NaNoWriMo novel, so I can say it was sort of published. That counts, right?

Review at Daytona Beach News-Journal

Just posted my review at GO386.com, the entertainment site for the Daytona Beach News-Journal: Scrivener for Windows arrives just in time for NaNoWriMo Every year at novelin' time, I spend more time and effort deciding how to write my opus than I do actually planning what to write. Anyone who has re...

Re: Weird glitch in character sheet template

Adding: the alignment button selected in this screen shot is center, but changing that doesn't fix the problem. It just aligns the entire line, title and all.

Weird glitch in character sheet template[ADDRESSED]

Tried creating a new character template, but entering info in the provided fields starts a tab over and then aligns right, so that it starts writing over the title of the field.

Re: Spell check- contractions (after 10/27 update)

I noticed last night that when I turned off smart quotes, my contractions were still showing as misspelled (although new ones I typed were not), so presumably it doesn't fix your pre-existing text.

I didn't experiment further; I just turned off spell-check entirely for now.

Re: Problems with underlining misspelled words [BUG LOGGED]

From what I can tell it looks like Scrivener considers the single curly quote (the slanted or curled apostrophe) to be some other form of punctuation, like a comma or something, so that it thinks that any contracted word is really two words run together. Any word with a curly quote in it gets tagged...

Re: Scriv1.1 - Spell checker buglets

Same problem here. I noticed such words only register as misspelled if the apostrophe is a curly quote. If you paste in a word with a straight quote, no problem.

Didn't get around to trying just unchecking the curly quote option last night but it's worth a shot, until this can be fixed.
