Re: Vic-K

Very very sad news. He was very much a central character of the board and I had a number of pleasant interactions on here with him though never met him; probably because he never came to my house and knocked the door as I was/am unlikely to make any sort of effort to meet anyone! Marvellous achievem...

Re: Lions, and tigers, and...viruses?

Still around and just as anti-social as ever. The procrastination is getting ever more difficult with so much time available. Still, I am confident I can avoid actually being productive for some time yet. In England today it becomes a legal requirement to wear face masks in shops so happy Shoplifter...

Re: Lions, and tigers, and...viruses?

It is an interesting experience when all around you look at the latest death stats for the words " old/elderly with underlying health problems/issues" and, when found, breathe a huge sigh of relief. I tend to point to myself and say, hang on they are ME. ..Age 63 with heart disease... but ...

I have not been here for a while.

I kinda lost the inclination to come here to read and sometimes join in when Ioa changed the format, probably quite a while ago, I lose track. I was never a big contributor so nobody would have ever missed me. After the change, it didn't then and doesn't now seem like a community any more, more a pl...

Re: How to protect an iPad Pro?

"What's your use case? Do you take it hiking, or just between your house and the local coffee shop?" That is a good point, especially when maybe the question arises to avoid actually writing..."I can't write as it may be lost if my ipad explodes or Thor smashes it with his hammer. Hmm...

Re: Scrivner IOS

"Okay, what is this discussion supposed to be about as the originator stated that he was being satirical (comical, maybe)? Nothing? Wonderful. I just wasted a part of my life reading all this."

Oooh a writer objecting to an excuse for procrastination. Who'd a thunk it? :D

Re: Novel-in-a-Day 5: Go Set A NiaD

Hi Pigfender

Sorry but I am going to have to pull out of NIAD this year- something has cropped up on the day.

(Nothing to do with domestic violence jokes, I hasten to add...)

Re: Novel-in-a-Day 5: Go Set A NiaD

But if you do it in counting terms it goes 58, 59, 60 with 60 being Midnight (Friday). The next unit (Saturday) starts at 1 then 2 etc. (regardless of whether you are counting in minutes or seconds or micro seconds or nano seconds. ie. Friday doesn't stop at 59 and Saturday doesn't start at 60. Or s...

Re: Novel-in-a-Day 5: Go Set A NiaD

starts at midnight on Saturday UK time. So, in the US, that means it'll actually kick off Friday afternoon (the exact time depending on your timezone). Without wishing to appear argumentative...which is correcter? Midnight on Saturday or Midnight on Friday. On the basis that at 11.59, ie one minute...
