Re: Document Notes Missing in Beta?

They moved it. Instead of in the inspector, which is where it used to be, it's now in the Binder (and should be at the top of the binder in new projects). I honestly don't use it much, and the Binder is a fine place for it (for me; your mileage may vary). If you need to see it while editing somethi...

Re: [LH3176|LH3149] Taskbar icon disappears in Fullscreen Mode

Lanie - Yes, as Bryan said, the bug with the 0% opacity background has been filed; that's not supposed to happen. ;) Regarding the other issue, I'm not following what happened with "clicking out of it" and Scrivener then closing--could you clarify that? Or is that tied to the 0% opacity p...

Re: [Bug] Taskbar icon disappears in Fullscreen Mode

I get this, too. Except I stupidly managed to click out of it and then Scrivener closed and wouldn't reopen until I was forced to kill the process via Task Manager. Also, I don't know if it's related or a separate bug entirely, but when you're in Fullscreen mode, if your background opacity is set to...

Re: To beta or not to beta for compiling an ebook?

Thanks for all the helpful replies! With regard to ebook formatting, I'll keep shopping around, but I still think Scrivener has a lot to offer - even if I don't end up using it for that. Many of my other writer friends have used it and loved it for years, so I'm definitely going to download the tri...

Document Notes Missing in Beta?

In the current version of Scrivener, via the Inspector panel, you have Document Notes and Project Notes available. However, in the current beta version, I am not seeing Project Notes as an option. Will someone please tell me that this is just hiding or has yet to be implemented in the beta? I'd be r...

Re: To beta or not to beta for compiling an ebook?

My own opinion is that assembling a publishable ebook is not Scrivener's strongest feature, even on the Mac. If that's all you want to do, there are purpose-built alternatives. I'm going to have to second this. I absolutely adore Scrivener as a writing/organizing program (I love you Scrivener, real...

Re: New Text Document Opens Up Character Template

@LilyC and @Aughadan: You could make a copy of a proper/working text file (making sure to delete the contents in the copy) and then using that as a temporary template. You could then duplicate it as necessary. Not as easy as just making a new document, but maybe it'd be a temporary fix? That or mayb...

Re: New Text Document Opens Up Character Template

Out of curiosity, have you tried opening an old project or starting a new project and seeing if the New Text behavior is the same or if it's normal?

Re: Project Targets went negative!

I've been getting this a lot too, but only recently and, as far as I can tell, only on one project. (But I don't typically change projects when I'm in the middle of one.) I also have to close and reopen the project to make it go back to normal.

Re: COMPLETE DELETION OF PROJECT

The easiest way is going to be to import the whole thing and then CTRL+K (I think is the shortcode) to make each scene its own text. Time consuming and annoying, but it's the only way I can think of to accomplish what you're after. I'm really sorry about your work and that you're having problems, th...

Re: Is Scrivener (Win) a Good Choice If It Has Bugs Like This?

I don't write non-fiction or use lists very often, but you could try making the list the way you want it and, until you're sure of the exact order, use a period in place of the list item. Once you figure out the exact order you want it to go in, then you could type it in that way. Not a fix and prob...

Re: Project Statistics Showing Zero For Word Count

Maybe look under Project > Project Targets. If that also shows 0 word count, then just double-check the files are actually in the Manuscript folder and not beneath it. I've had that happen a few times, thinking my files are there when they actually aren't. If that doesn't help, can you take a screen...

Re: COMPLETE DELETION OF PROJECT

The only time I've had any issues similar to yours is with Templates, files that got messed up (like, Scrivener files saving into Scrivener files somehow, for some reason), or when I've stupidly had the project open on two computers while using Dropbox. For the time being, I'd suggest compiling your...

Re: Formatting issue following inserted link

I've noticed the same issue sometimes, I think. I don't have the fix or anything, but one thing I do is usually put a few extra lines at the end of every document, then paste the link a line or two before that, so I still have "normal" text after that. Or, if you're desperate, copy the act...
