Re: Maybe It's Too Organized?

Have you tried L&L's tool Scapple? It is non-restrictive and free flowing by design. If I need to think through a vague idea, Scapple is the tool I reach for. Scapple is built on a leaf topology. Hatpnole described a grid topology like that of the Corkboard. I happen to share that preference, a...

Ah, now I see the issue. Try setting:

Re: Webview/Browser improvement

Same in the current editor. You can stare at it, you can scroll, but you cannot browse without bringing up the default browser. And we can click on links in the built-in browser and view them within the pane. The browser gives us access to our research while we work in our editor/project binder. It...

Re: Webview/Browser improvement

The browser does work as advertised, in that it does not exist. If you view a web page from Scrivener, you're using a browser that already exists on your device. Scrivener has a very capable built-in browser, in Windows at least, used to view documents of type WebArchive and web links in Bookmarks ...

Re: Removing default metadata fields when compiling with MMD?

Crum, so I'm only just discovering, through this thread, that Scrivener has had a route to semantic HTML output all along, even in V.1. Compile MMD to HTML and we can paste into our blog an HTML that uses <strong> and <em> and <blockquote> rather than all those fonts and margins and spans. Been on t...

Re: [LH4934] preview markdown files in bookmarks viewer

Bookmarks Preview of Markdown files will be available in the next update RC20. If you can think of other meaningful plain text files that would be nice to preview, please let us know. I'll be hoping for .MD previews in the big panes as well. At present, when we try to import an .MD file as a shortc...

Re: RC 16: Crashed on 1st run

Check disabling the Auto Update(which is a known issue). If this does not work we cannot help much as the crash happens in a module version 6.1.7601.17514 and Scrivener does not use directly a module with that version. Sorry about that. But a search on that module version turns up an audio driver c...

Re: [LH2688] - Right Click in Binder Changes Document

In the past, Scriv for Windows had difficulty distinguishing a left click in the Binder from a left drag gesture. Thus an attempt to drag a document into Doc Bookmarks would open the doc in the default pane, requiring a locking ritual so as not to reposition Bookmarks in the process. Fortunately the...

Re: [OPTION REQUEST] Default Bookmarks View

Would not a preference, perhaps, be better? I don't think so. I'm pretty comfortable with the idea of Layouts as a set of grouped Presets that work together, so that a preferred view of Doc Bookmarks (as opposed to Project Bookmarks or perhaps Custom Meta Data) is matched with preferred pane widths...

Hi Charlson

The preferred Bookmarks view is retained via Window > Layouts.

OK, there may be an extra twist. Try these settings under Options > Sharing > Import:

Re: Trello use in Scrivener 3 (WIN) [JavaScript]

Jerome, when I try to import your html file after following your instructions (I believe I'm following them exactly ), I get an error dialog that says: Hi Charlson. Not sure how you got the dialog, but I've attached the meta-refresh code above as a zipped HTML file. Just unzip it, then drag TrelloD...

RC13 - Importing a .BAT file via Import Research Files as Shortcut creates an invalid, hybrid entry

Steps to reproduce: Create a harmless .BAT file like this one: echo hello from dummy.bat pause Import it into the Research section of the tutorial via File > Import > Research Files as Shortcuts. We'll get a Binder entry that is simultaneously a Shortcut and a Scrivener-editable document. ImportBatA...

Re: Options window displays with bottom part out of view and inaccessible

Attempts to resize window just jump back to previous display. Windows no longer allows us to move a window by mouse or keystrokes to a point where its title bar is beyond the top of the screen, making it difficult at times to get the bottom edge of a large window into view. Fortunately we can still...
