Re: Publishing draft to website with accordian functionality ( like binder) with hyperlinks to docs and other pages

Hi Steve -- It's been some time since I dabbled in Freeplane. Wow, yes, the database view of a mindmap is quite difficult to find; it doesn't appear to be on any of the dropdown menus. Click on the circled icon: FreeplaneSearchList.png ,,, for a view like this one: FreeplaneListview.png My own imple...

Re: Publishing draft to website with accordian functionality ( like binder) with hyperlinks to docs and other pages

Steve, glad you're getting some traction with Freeplane. Yes, you'll most likely have to script those changes; L&L won't be adding user-requested capabilities to the Windows Beta. Their imperative is to ship Scriv 3 as designed, to get it into revenue service. I've been scripting Scriv in AutoHo...

On the PC, Freeplane can generate a collapsible HTML representation of its mind map. Worth a try on the Mac. If Freeplane's HTML is satisfactory, you can use Scrivener's OPML or MM output as a source for your map.

Re: Copy/Paste Error

I'd try selecting all within the scrambled document (Ctrl-A), and cutting and pasting (Ctrl-X Ctrl-V). This won't solve all HTML to RTF problems, but has a good chance of cleaning this one up.

Re: Bug: Import project does not work.

The new project directory structure makes it difficult to find the piece of content I might want. I'm not entirely sure how to discover the technical details of a particular scene (its path, for example). I chose one randomly with a content.rtf file, and importing it did work. However, finding the ...

Re: Those disturbingly random folder names

XML parsing is not something I've encountered the need (or desire) to learn to code in any of the languages I know well. My advice, though, is to focus on learning a language that makes sense for you, with an eye to gaining the proficiency in that language to make use of XML parser libraries (which...

Re: [Suggestion] A few more color choices

What about the pane background color for Comments and Footnotes? "Comment background" sets the background for the individual comments, but not the pane. That color is governed by the Windows Theme. Not as easy to manage as it would be under Options > Appearance, but still we're not limite...

Re: x-callback-URL

Hi - This appears to be an an iOS-only specification, and for that reason alone it may be difficult to justify for inclusion. Perhaps you could describe how you would put the capability to use? Someone might then be able to suggest an interoperable approach to the same objective.

Re: I tried to like it. I really did.

This is an old design bugbear, the lack of granularity in the Inspector, as we each may prefer different elements in our primary view. Scriv 2.9.X has actually improved in this area as it can now partition, collapse, resize and independently scroll some of the Inspector panes, particularly those in ...

[Suggestion] A few more color choices

Much appreciation for all of Scrivener's custom color capabilities, some effected via Options, others via the Windows Theme. They enable users to combat eye strain, and create an appealing research and writing environment. This is a request for a bit more of the same: user choice in colors that at p...

[Suggestion] Dragging a link from a web viewer pane into Document Bookmarks?

Greetings We can drag links from web pages viewed in Scrivener's panes, and drop them into Scrivener documents. But we can't drop them into Document Bookmarks, which would also seem a logical destination as we identify useful reference material. When we view the same pages in popular web browsers, w...

"Export Files" saves to a truncated filename that does not match the one shown in its screen prompt

This bug emerges when exporting a doc whose name contains a period. If we select doc "A. A. Milne" for export, we'll get a prompt like this: MilneExport.png But when we actually click Export , the file created will be truncated at the first period: A.rtf , If A.rtf already exists, it'll be...

[LH3017] "View Page Source" on a web doc triggers loss of Zoom

Greetings An obscure bug in Beta 2.9.0.4's extremely successful integration with the Qt web engine: After we've selected View Page Source on a web document, the active Zoom value will no longer be applied to subsequent web documents in that pane. The Zoom we selected, say 125%, remains checked, and ...

Re: Imported document, now text is offset to one side.

Pretty sure the original page achieved its formatting by tables, and the tables have been imported into Scrivener. A table in Scriv 1.9.7 can have Border set to 0px and Cell Background set to None, leaving the user with little evidence of its existence, just margins and barriers he can't see or adju...
