I'm only mentioning this because I assumed originally that the lag was caused by having so much text, but that doesn't seem to be the case. On my end, it seems that the amount of folders/pages is what is causing the lag. Also, the lag seems to be better after reopening Scrivener. I have exactly the...
Some further observations on this issue: 1. In a document where I don't adjust the font at all, it automatically types as 10pt Verdana; but when I close and reopen, it's shifted back to 8pt (as mentioned above) 2. In another document, I manually changed the font to be 12pt. This formatting remained ...
See this post here: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=8951 The problem is with the smart quotes. If you turn off the smart quotes option then the spellchecker works fine. (In Edit>Options>Auto Corrections (the very last tab) un-tick the checkbox for "Use Smart Quo...
I can corroborate this: with the set-up I used to test before (docs within folders within folders), when I type in the documents the CPU spikes to about 60% , and this is associated with the lag. Once the text appears, the CPU drops down to 10-12% So whatever is causing the lag is putting a load on ...
Further to the above, it might be worth noting that when I'm doing the test, I've got other things running as well. A USB mobile internet dongle; Skype in the taskbar, Firefox with two tabs open etc. CPU usage is hovering around the 10% mark as is. Could all these other processes be contributing to ...
Any idea when this feature is going to be functional? As in... will it be working in later betas? I'm guessing it's not a top proirity right now what with all the other swarms of bugs that need sorting out.
Ok, I did some further testing, and I think the problem may be in Scrivener trying to remember where everything goes. Having closed and reopened my test project, I eliminated the lag - however, I then went and moved the documents around a bit. At first, nothing. Then, sure enough, as I started to mo...
I just downloaded the update with the bug fixes... and the lag is gone!! After all my testing...... However, this might indicate that the problem was to do with the dictionary? Since that was one thing that was fixed in the update file. But doing my procedures I noted makes me lag still... Hmmm... ...
^I can confirm that it's the "smart quotes". I had initially typed all the above words in and got those errors. However, when I went to Edit>Options>Autocorrect and turned off the "Use smart quotes" option, I could type all the same words out and not get any spelling errors. So i...
Sort of related to this issue: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=8783&hilit=link+links But I'm having a slightly different problem with the links. 1. I can create a link to another document in the draft and it works just fine (I typed in some text, selected it, cho...
I've downloaded and installed the newer Scriviner file (1.1) so I have the updated version. This is not a serious 'bug' but something worth mentioning - the spellchecker is not recognising certain words, specifically contractions containing the apostraphe ( ' ). For example, the following words are ...
I did a more thorough "Stress Test" today to try to track down the source of the lag. (specs posted above, Mr. Lee-man!!) 1. Created new project 2. Created 8 or 9 pages in the draft, one after the other 3. Typed in one or two (a couple of sentences in each) 4. NO LAG 5. Deleted five or six...
