Re: Offer to donate MuseNames character database to Scrivener

Sounds like the format is not is no delimited in a way that you can distinguish fields within records. It is just a flat comma-delimited list (each item a record). So, it seems very unlikely that a "luff" field could be insinuated in there. gr Yes, I agree. I can make the fields such that...

Re: Offer to donate MuseNames character database to Scrivener

If a list prepared for Scrivener has and extra field, will Scrivener just ignore it? If so, perhaps the name-meaning info could be rendered to an extra field -- and thus retained against possible future Scriv development? Gr, this is an excellent question. Perhaps someone at L&L can comment on ...

Re: Offer to donate MuseNames character database to Scrivener

Thanks for the vote, Chris. You can add your Welsh name by emailing me at vanessa@oltmann.ca with the name, it's origin, whether it's male, female or unisex, and anything you might know about the name's use or origin. I'll add it to the database, and it will also get into the Scrivener dataset I'll ...

Offer to donate MuseNames character database to Scrivener

In the 1990s my company, Muse Creations Inc., developed the Musenames database of character names for writers. The database grew to contain 60,000 name records with name, gender, ethnicity, meaning, and numerology fields, and we continued to upgrade it until Windows 7 was released, at which point we...

Re: Need help for basic Footnote problem

I think I found the solution. I just tried compiling to Word instead of RTF, and the footnotes are there.

Re: Need help for basic Footnote problem

I see that I'm showing in my profile as a Windows user. I'm actually a (converted) Mac user and have been using Scrivener on Mac for over a year.

Need help for basic Footnote problem

I'm having trouble using the footnote feature in Scrivener, and I know I must be missing something basic. I am able to insert footnotes in Scrivener using the control-cmd-8 key, and I see the footnotes in the "comments and footnotes" inspector. I've tried this with the marker and without. ...

Re: Aeon Timeline 0.8 - Finally, a proper interface

I just had a crash of Aeon timeline after doing more work on the synchronized Scrivener-Aeon project referred to in the previous post. I've submitted the log of the crash details through the Aeon Timeline crash reporter. Events: 1. I closed Aeon timeline file TTT, and closed Aeon timeline 2. Opened ...

Re: Aeon Timeline 0.8 - Finally, a proper interface

Message: I'm excited about the new Aeon Timeline. I've just installed version 0.8.2 and am working with the synchronize to Scrivener. I backed up my Scrivener project, then closed it and asked Aeon Timeline to synchronize to it. I quickly realized that I had chaos on my hands because I had many scen...

Re: New Mac user due to Scrivener

@Vanessa: For a timeline, you might try Aeon Timeline at: http://aeontimeline.wordpress.com/latest-version/ (a beta), or 3D Timeline at: http://www.beedocs.com/forwriters.php . The latter is kind of spendy, but it has an educational discount, and occasionally pops up in promo bundles. (I got mine t...

Re: New Mac user due to Scrivener

Back in the early 1980s, the program VisiCalc was created for the Apple II . Apparently, there were a fair number of people who would go to their local Radio Shack and say, "Give me a VisiCalc!" The Radio Shack salesmen were pretty quick; they realized that customers were asking for both ...

Re: Beta 1.5 Import Web Page not Working

Web import problems are mentioned in the known bug list: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivenerforwindows/OfficialBetaBugListBeta1-5.html Dragging from browsers creates different effects depending on the browser. With regard to importing via the menu, some web pages work and some don't. Thanks...

Beta 1.5 Import Web Page not Working

Hi, Lee Great job on Beta 1.5 I'm having an issue with importing Web pages. I did a search and didn't find any related post newer than November, at which point it seemed the issue was resolved in v 1.3, so thought I should post it as a Beta 1.5 issue. Here's what's happening: 1. I have scrivener bet...
