Re: CURRENT BETA DOWNLOAD (RELEASE 1.4)

My spell check worked fine. Something I did notice. When I uninstalled Beta 1.3, I noticed it also thought I had Beta 1.0 still installed. When I tried to uninstall that version as well, the uninstall failed. Initially I went ahead and installed Beta 1.4, however I noticed the Beta 1.0 left some cru...

Re: Word count not updated when duplicating sections

I thought I read the split feature didn't work reliably in the beta. However, I fully admit that duplicating a document isn't the quickest way to perform this task. There are better, faster, easier ways of doing this. Just because there are better ways of doing this doesn't mean it isn't a bug, thou...

Word count not updated when duplicating sections[BUG LOGGED]

Use-case: You've typed something up and you want to split it in to two separate scenes. Instead of cutting and pasting in to a separate scenes, you decided to duplicate the scene and then cut out the other scene. (Sure, it is more work, but it is still something a person would expect to work.) Probl...

Four issues with the Keyword HUD[BUGS LOGGED]

This is an issue even without switching to other applications. Problem 1. It behaves like a System Modal window and not like an Application Modal window This first problem is what we see with other applications. This is both annoying and should be easily fixed. While this was probably the only way t...

Re: Scrivener doesn't open project: Slowly consumes RAM

The problem RTF file has been found. Better than that, it didn't have anything of note from the novel, so I didn't need to try to pull stuff out of it first. Again, WordPad loads the problem file broke_127_notes.rtf and when saved it produces the work_127_notes.rtf file. I'm including both, just inc...

Re: Scrivener doesn't open project: Slowly consumes RAM

A further clue, I ran through the RTF files that had been saved yesterday and opened them all with WordPad. There were no complaints when they were loaded. I saved them and tried the project again -- and it worked. This means that an RTF file that WordPad doesn't feel worth complaining about is caus...

Re: Scrivener doesn't open project: Slowly consumes RAM

I've confirmed that it is one of the RTF files that is causing it to get in this state.

This means Scrivener (at least the 1.2 version) could write RTF files it could not parse.

I have since updated to the 1.3 beta (to see if it would fix the issue) but it did not.

Re: Scrivener doesn't open project: Slowly consumes RAM

Well, since I'd been mostly touching the meta-data, I would have thought that just the project.scriv file was the source of the problem. So I got my most current backup, extracted it to another location -- loaded it up once to verify I was working from a usable backup -- then renamed the functioning...

Scrivener: Slowly consumes RAM[BUG LOGGED]

I had Scrivener lock up on me earlier today. I killed Scrivener, started it up. It gives the "Beta" notice, then it looks like it has closed. Trying to open it again results in not even the Beta notice dialog, so I checked the Task Manager. Scrivener is running, slowly consuming RAM. While...

Re: 2nd NOV - LEE'S DAILY UPDATE

This is the best news. My computer is fast, but I also type fairly fast. The BETA-1.2 lag was enough that I went back to the official Beta 1.1 from the main Scrivener for Windows page. (The Beta-1.2 lag was unusable once I started writing my novel at full speed. The Beta-1.1 lag was much more interm...

Re: [29th Oct Update] Word Count Progress Bar

No, I was wrong.

I changed the setting from 30 seconds to 1 second and the super-long lag didn't change.

I appear to be extending the lag by trying to type through it.

Re: [29th Oct Update] Word Count Progress Bar

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. The lag with the bar seems to be related to the "save after period of inactivity" setting. I upped that setting to 30 seconds in an attempt to not have to deal with the problem as frequently. When I did, instead of a relatively quick lag I got... well, it appear...

Keyword HUD doesn't process Delete Key[NOTED]

1. In the Binder select a document 2. Open the Keyword HUD 3. Select an item in the Keyword HUD 4. Press the Delete key 5. Notice the keyword is still there 6. In the Binder, go to your Trash and move the Document back where it belongs. Since the Keyword HUD has focus, it doesn't make sense for the ...

Need canonical version information (About dialog?)[FIXED]

When there are multiple beta versions in use, it becomes more important that we are capable of finding out exactly what version we are running in a meaningful way. You're using a source control system? It should be possible to have your build system automatically pull this information from your sour...

Re: 29th Oct - LEE'S DAILY UPDATE

I tried to install this update, but got this error message: An unexpected error is preventing this operation. Make note of this error code, which might be useful if you get additional help to resolve this problem: Error 0x80004005: Unspecified Error. Scrivener Type: Application Date Modified: 29/10...
