Re: Backup Project to . . . Zip problem

Yay! Problem with unzipping files created by Scrivener on my laptop was solved when I received, downloaded, and installed Vista Service Pack 2. So if anyone else has this issue, that's the key! :D

Re: Backup Project to . . . Zip problem

Created several zip files that the laptop still handles with no problem. Even tried renaming some of the folders with the .scriv extension before zipping. No problem. Then I manually compressed the project folder that I'm working with on my computer. Was able to then extract and work with the projec...

Re: Backup Project to . . . Zip problem

For some reason, on the laptop the zip folder appears to contain two items instead of the single folder that my other computer shows. One is a folder named flex.scriv - and the other is an empty file with the same name. This file doesn't exist when I view the contents of the zipped file on my deskto...

Re: Backup Project to . . . Zip problem

Okay, this morning I did some more investigating. I installed Scrivener on my desktop (also running Vista), and the same files (transferred through Dropbox) work just fine. There is no duplicate file. Very strange, no idea what could be causing the issue on the laptop, but will keep investigating an...

Re: Virus in installation file?

The Literature and Latte folks might not want to be outright recommending this, but if it were me, I would just disable the darn antivirus, get the download and install, then turn antivirus back on. But then, I have never been known for my patience when it comes to highly anticipated software. . . T...

Oh, yes, I know we're overwhelming you with fixes, ranging from typos to true tragedies - nothing like real world testing! But I doubt anyone is expecting you to respond to these right away! (I hope, anyway!) I'm just going to document things as I come across them, so that I don't forget anything im...

Backup Project to . . . Zip problem [RESOLVED]

Overall, loving this! That said, running into problems with backups, as follows: Using Scrivener for Windows on laptop running Vista 1)Selected "Backup Project to", checked to save as Zip file and hit okay. Then, tried to access the backup: 2)Right-clicked on the Zipped file and selected &...

Re: Found something in the Tutorial

I think I killed my tutorial. I was just near the beginning, where it said to drag step 3 to the header view (and I don't know if that meant in the binder or up top, so I did it in the binder). Then I was reading it, and thought I'd put it back where it belonged, I mean with its level back at the s...
