Scirvener blackens out in Compose mode

Just to note, I can supply more details if this is still undetected / to be traced: I opened a folder containing 16 subfolders, with 1 text file each (around 300.000 characters total, 10-20.000 per text file) in the binder by clicking on it. The text is displayed as it should in the editor window. I...

Re: Text Wrap issue: Sudden Fixed Width after Win->Mac transfer

interesting ... while I checked all those invisible formatting stuffies, I didn't check the actual line indent. Which puts the bug there that through transferring the folder, Mac Scriv for some reason added the right-line indent. I'll check the original, but there shouldn't be any in the Win file. B...

Hej,

thanks for the reply!

"Paste and Match Style" didn't work for me.

Text Wrap issue: Sudden Fixed Width after Win->Mac transfer

In copied a Scriv file from the current 1.x Win build into my current 2.x Mac build of Scrivener. Just drag-and-dropped the folder containing the files from the binder of the original Win project to the Mac project, which is essentially the same project at an earlier stage. (I have to transfer just ...

en-dashes

For German text, I would need en-dashes instead of em-dashes. Any chance to get a setting via the Options panel? Right now, I can only find "replace double hyphens by em-dashes" in the options. A workaround through autocorrect is off course an alternative, which is exactly what I've done n...

Re: Bug? How to set "Wrap text"

Thanks for the hint, that is the workaround I already used and described above. Good point with text editors. While copying in Notepad or a similar editor might throw other unwanted issues, they should be more likely to be visible ones. But the behaviour is still strange: - I used "Paste with m...

Bug? How to set "Wrap text"

EDIT: This actually may fit into "Bug Hunt" now. The problem has been: I had a problem with both Compose and Editor mode, where I (still) cannot find any answer to on teh web for the win version, and which makes it impossible to use both for a project. I pasted a longer text from a Win 10 ...

Compose mode on dual displays problems

When entering Compose mode and having "use secondary screen" enabled, the window opens on the main screen and does not fill it out, but only parts of it, showing the underlying programs in the background. If "use secondary" is unticked, the Compose mode opens on main screen, but ...

Re: quick ref in full screen mode

I tried to access preferences after entering Compose mode on a dual-screen setup to check the settings (binder doesn't show on secondary), but Scrivener crashed. Seems reproducible. Tried to submit a bug report, timed out. Tried to send a bug report mail with the error codes, mail crashed. System is...

Okay, thanks for the answer. Apple has been annoying with their hard-to-customize sound sets since OS 9 ...

Change Character count target sound

Hej, a fancy adjustment: Is it possible to assign a custom sound to the Character Count notification? And another one: Would it be possible to assign a colour change of the character count status bar at 1/3 and 2/3? Since these are often significant steps in storytelling values, this might be intere...

Re: Remove formatting in footnotes

I don’t quite follow that part. To right-click on a footnote it doesn’t matter if it is in the sidebar or a floating window. The command is “Convert to Default Formatting” though, not “Apply formatting preset”, so we might be referring to different things. You should be seeing the former along with...

Target word count doesn't include footnotes

Hej! I love Scrivener and enjoy very much to work with it. While working on an academic article, I run into a serious issue that i am unsure how to resolve: The Character/Word count differs. Also, footnotes are not included in the character count of the Project target (both bottom bar and under the ...

Compose: Insertion point transparency makes it hard

When in Compose mode, the insertion point has a transparency that makes it very hard to spot in black background settings. Is there any way to make it better visible, or even change it's color? It seems to me that this is a recent problem, I never encountered it being so hard to spot until some time...

Remove formatting in footnotes

This sounds like a stupid question yet I couldn't find an answer (or thread) for this: When working with footnotes, and accidentially applying a bulleted/numbered list, or wring font, I cannot remove the formatting. There is no option with right-click, and "Apply formatting preset" doesn't...
