Re: Fountain to .pdf compiler

Nice Scrivener update! But I'm reposting this from last year because it is still a big wish list item for me... Hello! While I appreciate Scrivener's Screenwriting Mode, I am finding that I prefer to write scripts in Fountain. [I find fountain to be simple and universal. If I'm transferring back and...

Fountain to .pdf compiler

Hello! While I appreciate Scrivener's Screenwriting Mode, I am finding that I prefer to write scripts in Fountain. [I find fountain to be simple and universal. If I'm transferring back and forth between different word processing programs, which I often do, fountain gives me a single universal way to...

Re: iPad Pro support for the upcoming iOS version

KB wrote Honestly, why would someone choose this over a MacBook for writing? Sometimes, people need to both write AND draw. Scrivener is an excellent application for screenwriting. And, if one is both writing and directing a screenplay, one needs to both write the script AND draw storyboards. Thus, ...

Re: Layers (a la Omnigraffle)

Perhaps a "pro" and a "light" version of Scapple? Lots of apps use a tiered pricing model. I'd cheerfully pay more for more features. And I suspect many pros, corporations, etc. would do the same.

Layers (a la Omnigraffle)

When working in omnigraffle, I find it helpful to use layers. Sometimes, I'll divide layers up by level of detail. Sometimes, I'll divide layers up by topic. When I do this, I can show/hide specific layers while I'm working. This allows me to focus on a particular topic or a particular level of deta...

Itty Bitty Bug on .docx compile

When I write a script using the Comic Book (Antony Johnston) format, and when I then compile that script in a .docx file, the compiled version inserts a page break after the first line of every scrivening document. The blank page does not show up on .pdf or other compiled exports-- only when I expor...

Re: Let the binder reflect which split pane is active

So, I'm a professional writer and I've been using Scrivener for almost 2 years. I love it and I use it for almost of my writing- freelance copywriting (scripts for TV ads, print ads, web sites, etc), journalism assignments, stage plays and screenplays. I use Scrivener, on average, 5 hours per day, 5...

Re: Promote & Demote in Outline View

Thank you. I swear I looked under the "Move" menu. And I didn't see it. Now I do. I am starting to believe that, on my laptop, many Scrivener features exist in a quantum state. They only appear after someone points them out to me. Now, if anyone knows how to access the "Make me a Marg...

Promote & Demote in Outline View

When working in outline view, one has to drag and drop documents in order to place them. If a document has accidentally been dropped inside another, it is tricky, through drag & drop, to simply move that document outside of its parent (outdent it a level). When I do it through drag & drop (o...

Problem inserting text after table

I've been starting many documents with tables recently. Here's what I find: when I insert a table at the top of the document, I have a hard time getting out of the table to add regular text afterwards. When I click below the table (hoping to put the text insertion cursor there) the cursor jumps insi...

.fdx export- Joy!

I just did an .fdx export of a Scrivener project. I haven't had to do one of those in quite a while and I was dreading it because I had always screwed it up in the past. (Not importing/exporting script settings properly way way back when the programs weren't as well integrated. And then, last year, ...

Re: MovieMaker Magazine articles (written in Scrivener)

Hello Penny, Great design work and writing in your MM mag articles that you wrote in Scriv. May I ask for your workflow as to how you inserted those images into your article? I am total newbie to Scriv. Thanks George Hi George, Scrivener will let you insert tables (Format>Table) and you can also in...

Re: Compiled Collection Missing its Headers

Just to clarify, you seem to be using the term "headers" for what I would refer to as titles (merely to disambiguate between page headers, not that you are wrong, they are in fact called headers as well as titles!). From your statement it sounds like that is what you are looking for. You ...

Compiled Collection Missing its Headers

I'm trying to share a collection of research with some colleagues. I've put all the research into a collection and I would like to compile this collection into a .pdf. I need the compile to include headers which list the title and a meta-data field for each document. I've set the correct placeholder...
