Re: What's the best recipe software?

Now that I’ve had some more time with MacGourmet and YummySoup I can say a few more things: 1. MacGourmet is an "old Mac App" and has some weird UI things that aren’t seen in more modern apps. 2. MacGourmet has some weird issues, like when I combine two shopping lists it loses data, eg- t...

Re: How about making snapshot into a toolbar icon option?

I too have difficulty remembering… mostly because I usually use "snapshot all" not just snapshot and that shortcut is to mash the left side of the keyboard. What about open source icons? Between the sound and the name of it I always assume that it's a camera… and those are relatively easy ...

Re: Very newb question: Where to put ideas for novel?

I use Backpack http://backpackit.com/ to store my ideas. Specifically I have a page imaginatively called ‘ideas’ and I just create a note for new ones. I actually store all cool ideas here, not just writing related in hope that they multiply like bunnies.

Re: A little stopwatch for Scrivener

I'm a registered Minuteur user. Though I was more of a menubar timer app person I fell in love with how I have to drag to the time I want to set it to. It's a terrific app.

Re: Dragging URLs to Research

Keith, That's interesting. I'm a Together http://reinventedsoftware.com/together/ user and importing URLs converts the file name to the URL so I guess I thought it was part of OS X. Also, sorry for asking what I thought would be a redundant feature request. I tried searching for "Research Link&...

Dragging URLs to Research

I'd like to see the URL that I drag into Scrivener automatically assigned the Title of the page, instead of "Web page." I'm doing a lot of research for the book I'm writing and it's cumbersome to switch back and forth between Safari and Scrivener to name things.

Re: Single vs. Multiple Scrivener Files

I had this problem too. I wasn't sure if I should start out with a single file or multiples. Even after it was explained to me how Scrivener was meant to be used I still was unsure how I would use it. It wasn't till I asked for more insight into how to use index cards ( http://www.literatureandlatte...

Re: Welcome to the all-new all-singing updated forums

I generally hate forums and forum software but this forum is now the exception to both! Terrifically pretty. (It was the exception only to the former before.)

Folders Combine Word Count of Contents, targets as well

Would it be possible to make it so the word count of a folder represents the sum of its contents? I would also like to see targets match up so the folder is the sum of it's contents.

This should be used for the wish list forum. :)

I want XYZ.

Do you really want XYZ?

Yes.

I see. Do you think you really want it?

Yes?

Are you sure?

I guess I can work around it.

Ahab, Thanks for the insight. I'm totally psycho about cards: I have InDesign templates for checklists that I print on Index Cards for work, Hipster PDA stuff, Tarot, Poker decks, Oblique Strategies, etc. I even use them instead of post-it notes. Now that you mention it that is probably why I am dra...

Wow, thanks for all the feedback. I've read On Writing and Elements of Style and enjoyed them. I'll have to check out the rest. I guess I specifically brought up index cards because I remember my high school teachers going on and on about them for working on reports. I somehow managed to get by with...
